Mom is off today. I got to see the kids and my sister yesterday.
I had a wonderful time last night.

Peace Here Destruction There
We finally have green trees, cloudless skies and quiet. Our habitat has been washed away mentally. The grass and yard are sopping wet. It is peaceful here but the news is quite different as the storms did go south and destroyed lives and habitat. I am overwhelmed at my luck but mentally grieving at the loss of life south of us.

Mom if off work and I get to clean out the van today.
We had storms last night and I have not heard from our daughter this morning. Let me check the chat? She must not have her computer with her?
I feel good this morning but the ribs are like the shingles they are persistent in their pain in the ass.
Mom wanted me to put the trash out last night; I didn't do it (two bags). I could see our trash flying all over the roadway and me out there trying to clean it up - so it will go out next week.

High Water and the Ark

The power was off when I awoke at midnight and it stayed off until maybe 3AM. I am not sure? When I did awaken this morning mom was gone to work and some of the clocks said, "12:02" I assume that was the time when the storm passed and I was awakened.
I set the clocks to whatever my watch said.Mentally I am fine with my life and the planet. The creatures wandering around in a daze seems ridiculous but "Heh!" that is OK. This has been going on for some time. Remember that Moses told the Big Corporations to set the slaves free and Jesus died on a cross because he said he was the son of god. I also understand the man and I am also the son of the planet earth which is part of this big universe.
We tell stories which are good and sometimes funny, sometimes sound and sometimes they are ridiculous. This morning we have the whole spectrum of thought from sound asleep to walking on water to maybe telling those rich folk to pay their dues and quit robbing the poor to pay the rich.

תֵּבַת נֹחַ
A storm just came past a minute ago; I am fine but mom went to work about 40 minutes ago just before the storm hit here. I think she was traveling at the front edge of the storm,
Mom and I are fine but the water levels on the lakes and stream are very high. Care should be taken when traveling as to not go near flooded roads. Most counties in Kentucky will put up road blocks to stop traffic from going toward flooded areas.
Please be careful theses next two weeks as the rivers and lakes rise.
Mom said to get the ark ready.

Are we explorers?
Are we explorers or are we a nation of users. It seems to me that I am in the user mode and a person that would like to gather wealth. Now that makes sense for an old man of 69 but not a boy of 13. The boy of 13 should be climbing trees, jumping off cliffs flying on spaceships and generally making mom sweat and groan.

My sister was talking about a grass catcher that hangs on the back of your mower. It works great when the grass is dry but lacks enough hosepower to lift wet grass up into the chute to the hanging baskets. Our best so far in gathering grass in the old standby (I am on my 2nd one) is the pull behind after you mow, it also does not work well on wet grass but it gathers damp grass really well. Here is a photo of the type we have, it is called a lawn sweeper.

Good Morning. I have been catching up on my blogs from family and friends this morning. I was terribly busy with the NARFE photos and website that I did nothing else but that and some laundry and dishes. I was planning to mow again today but it is raining out this morning; no thunder or lightning just rain.
This morning I sit and rest, sleeping is a chore with these ribs but I get plenty of rest in this chair during the day.
Did you stop by Allison's and Scott's ETSY sites? Very nice work by two gifted artists.

Preamble
Why do we assume that government is some far off entity or bureaucracy we never see? Our founding fathers did not see it that way. They made each of us part of the whole, the government. They knew about kings and queens so they made our government out of each individual in the United States.
Big bosses in the early 1800's knew that they could buy power to control the population. Today corporations overseas have bought power in the United States by electing officials who live here.
We are the single voice of the small family who lives in the United States who are part of the whole. We are protected by law and given the freedom to vote.
We are the government.
How can we assume that we can become a smaller government. Those that think that way assume that we are some company that has grown to big and needs to be trimmed. We are a population of over 300,000,000 human beings and we are the government. We certainly can't put our eldest on a iceberg and let them drift off to trim the government.
Let us remember the preamble to our constitution.

We just had a storm come by. It was big, mom woke me up and I stayed up and she went back to sleep. Just rain and lighting, some wind but that wind was quick. No damage just a trash can blown over.
I looked out and the orange cat poked her head out from the dog house to see if all was alright.
When it stops raining I will check on the trash can.

Kentucky NARFE History and Photos
Good Morning, I am placing the convention photos online at the Kentucky Federation of Chapters website (NARFE) this morning.
I did mow yesterday where I could and I feel no worse than before mowing; I guess the ribs will ache until they heal.
I only have nine photos up since I have to size them for the website and correct any flaws. That takes times and some constant editing of the photos and the website.

Good Morning; today is the only day that it will not rain and yes I have to mow what I can out in the yard. There are places out there that I cannot get near. I will have to wait on those areas, but the rest I will mow.
I have been placing photos online at the Kentucky NARFE website and it is a chore with this ache. I just want to veg out and do nothing.
We missed our grandchildren yesterday; it was a special day for them. Mom worked all day yesterday and she is off today.

NARFE ALZHEIMER’S FUND
Good morning. Since falling a week ago I have lapsed into thoughts of pain and forgetting my duties as a person on the planet earth. I write as a reminder to my self to live with the pain but please do not let it interfere with my normal being. I think that is a prayer or maybe wishful thinking. My ribs hurt and I just take Tylenol for it; maybe two tablets a day. Last night I forgot to close up the van and mom had to go out in a thunder storm and close it up. Now that is a serious lapse in my unusual self.
I have been working on the web site for the Elderly Retired Federal Employees which is similar to AARP but we do not sell insurance we give our money to Alzheimer Research.

I was out of town and busy and I am still busy. Manhandling the luggage on the trip awakened my lower back and confirmed that my ribs were still in pain.
But mentally I am in love with all the ladies on the planet earth.
I did give a power point presentation and it was as good as a old fart can do; my mind is full of bull and they got it and maybe enjoyed it. I fired them up; pumped up those type A personalities.
It rained when we left and it rained today.
Mom got a Kindle for her ,"Another Birthday". I looked at it and adjusted the type font so I could read it (made it larger). Then I started reading the manual which was on the Kindle.
We were within 50 miles of Sandy but our days were very compact and then mom had to go to work.
Yesterday morning I got up and got ready for my presentation, did it, finished up the convention; stayed for the board meeting, packed the van and we stopped for gas on our way out of town. I reached for my wallet but it was in the suitcase in my black trousers; but in the meantime we freaked (now there is a lot going on in the van but it is unsuitable for print).
We pause as the blood drains from our heads.
Mom gave me the doe doe sign and I headed for the suitcase for a just in case. Deep in my back pocket under a pile of clothes was my wallet. Thank you.

Calm before the storm
Rain is a couple of miles away as I look at the radar; it is in the north western part of our county diagonally moving east.
I had planned to go to the doctor this morning but yesterday and last nights rest improved my ability to function quite a bit and the pain in the movement of my body has gone down and I consider that a great improvement. To me mentally that is extremely good to lose so much of the pain.
Thank you all for the well wishes.
Mom had a great birthday as so many folks that know her wished her well and that made her day. She did what I normally do yesterday which should of been her off day and I am thankful to her for the help.
I am back, well almost.

Asumming a sentence.
I tripped and fell Saturday and hurt my ribs under my left breast. I may have not broken them but I sure tore them away from the muscles because when I move the ribs go one way and the muscles go another way (and that is very painful). I will see the doctor Monday. Maybe he will wrap me up to keep me from moving too much. I am not sure if I will us any drug to help me with the pain, I tried Tylenol but that upset my stomach.
I finished printing my stuff for NARFE and I found a mistake (100 copies with one mistake). I should of let mom read it, she would of found it. That is what I get for assuming a sentence as I read.
Mentally I am fine. Pain is part of the gift of life and I accept it as such and I still love the planet as it is with it's beauty and it's flaws.

Lawn Mowing and Taxes

Mom was off and we had to make a trip to Princeton, Ky. to get a new belt for my John Deer Lawn Tractor.
We got our taxes done and we had better take more out of our pay because we owe them money this year. Mom said she will take out more from her check, they take out plenty on my check but it is not enough to cover mom's check.
After I mow I need to plant some bulbs we got two days ago.

I have been printing out hand outs for the up coming Kentucky Federation of Chapters Convention. I am scheduled to be a speaker on the Internet and how it can help each chapter use it as a tool to recruit and communicate. The Federation is composed of an older generation that just wants to visit their grand children and not be bothered with this new technology.

Our daughter and family just left for home , it was quit when they left and now the rain is coming down hard. But just before they left it poured very hard (just a preview). The rain will become more intense as the day moves forward.
Mom is at work and I am sure that shell of a building she works in sounds loud when the rain falls hard.
We had a good time celebrating moms Another Birthday. She got a red Amberina bowl from Kitten Yarn.
Mom was daughter were picking out things for a yard sale and came across some books that daughter wanted to place in a yard sale. Mom said, "No I just got those books for my birthday from Sandy!" Anyway daughter went away with two big boxes of collectibles for her yard sale. We had some very strong winds these last two days and they tore my bird feeders up, my broken one is really broken and my others need an new umbrella over them.
I will definitely need to mow now as the grass has shot up very well (4 to 6 inches).

Firemen, Policemen and Mailmen

"House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) will probe into the deeply troubled finances of the U.S. Postal Service Tuesday and will grill the postmaster general about a new tentative contract with the postal workers union that increases wages and limits layoffs."
Will this push these conservative minds over to the Democratic Party.
Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) raised more than $2 million during the first quarter of the year as she weighs a 2012 run for president.
Good Morning. I feel worn out this morning. I stayed very busy yesterday then after five PM I watched the basketball games before going to bed late last night.
I awoke at 6:30AM this morning which is a little late for me and I felt hung over. My body feels good other than that hung over feeling.
Our daughter and the kids are here and we celebrated moms birthday which is sometime later this month. Our daughter bought mom a red candy dish (Halloween size). Our daughter also brought her ETSY things to show mom.

Gogle TiSP System

Mom made some bread in our bread maker two weeks ago and the yeast was too old and the bread never rose. As you might understand it made heavy toast at an 1/4" slice. Mom said feed it to the birds. So I made peanut butter sandwiches and placed them outside in our suet feeders - our mockingbirds love them and it does take a while to whittle these slices of beard down. Still feeding Mockingbirds two weeks later.
My truck locked up (locked the steering wheel in place (security device)). I could not turn the ignition on and start the truck. I was on an errand to pick up a pizza and when I tried to start my red truck I could not do anything but call mom. She came and rescued me and we went to the service station and told them about the red truck. They said when a truck locks up like that then the dealer has to fix it. So we asked for towing service to the dealer who is near where mom works. We came home and our pizza was cold. I ate two slices and it was great. A half hour later we had a knock on our door and the service stations dad had our truck outside, he said, "Do you want your red truck back?" I looked and there it was parked out front. I said yes and drove him back to the service station where I paid his son for the truck. His dad said that sometimes it takes a certain technique to undo the lockup. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. Before he retired he had seen this situation before many times. So he knew the technique to fix it if it would and in my case it worked. Thank you.
