Walmart in the Year of Our Lord 2009

Walmart.com: Save money. Live better.

My wife is a tough woman.
She looks fifty and worked very hard all her life.
This past year she was at work going back to the break room at Walmart (where she worked) when a 13 year old boy ran out of the video section of the store and ran over my wife.
Do you remember that back then you could not see over the aisles at Walmart and that the young man who was running in the store had no clue that my wife was going to the break room.
Well my wife got hurt and Walmart took her to the hospital and after waiting four hours checked her out.
Well it turns out that the clinic where she went was not capable of finding a problem with my wife's pain so she was sent to a specialist.
He asked workers comp for the funds to check out my wife and they refused to do that each time the doctor asked (four times).
My wife did not do any better as time went by and our doctor was asked to send her back to work.
She is now working in pain at Walmart. She refuses to to take any pain pills because she knows that Walmart will certainly pay the hospital for a drug test for her.
You know if she fails a drug test then Walmart can remove her from her job.
Something is wrong with the system Walmart uses as a formula to help their employees. They will pay for a drug test to fire an employee but will not pay for a procedure to help her get well.
Did I mention that this was the 2009th year after our lord.
What ever happened to, "Honor thy Mother and Thy Father."
I still shop at Walmart this is just a message to help them improve their employee policies when folks get hurt within their walls.

My Old Dell Computer Got Zapped

I did most of my website edits on my old Dell laptop. Last week during the storm sometime that laptop got zapped by a voltage spike. The CPU works but the screen monitor is just black. I took the laptop into Allison's bedroom where mom's old computer is and I used her monitor on my Dell laptop and the machine works fine.
***
I am fine this morning but I had tingling in my legs all night. Mom has a back problem from getting run over at Walmart. Her back has been bothering her all week.

Wallmart and Kentucky Workers Comp

Mom was at work and got run over by a 13 year old boy in the Walmart store where she worked. Mom was just walking down the aisle and BAM! she got hit. She was on the clock and on the job.
Walmart would not help her get repaired by viewing her body with a scan of any kind. Their doctor asked them repeatedly for help and they refused.
Mom went back to work on a limited work load and she left this morning in considerable pain. She thinks Walmart will wait it out until she quits or tells them to go to south. I keep telling her that she was on the clock and Walmart has some responsibility as to how young boys play in the aisles.
The Commonwealth of Kentucky Workers Comp Program has washed their hands with Clearasil so as not to offend doctors and keep them in the commonwealth.
Walmart has bought the best lawyers in the country to put obstacles in front of hurt employees when they need help.

walmart and kentucky workers comp

A Gift in December
26 degrees in Marion at this moment. The Holy Day (Holiday) Spirits are more than vapors this morning. Tis the season to be jolly and sing fah la la la la la la la la la I think I ran into a wall and popped another la.
I had a Christmas Party at the Marion Cafe for the Retired Federa.l Employees in Marion yesterday. It was wonderful just talking and having a good time.
0700
We are now getting a dusting of snow.
Mom had to work yesterday and is being hassled by Walmart's leadership because she got run over by a 13 year old boy grab-assing in their store, the young man was told, "Behave and do not run in the store anymore!" Mom she still hurts from the collision, it was major and she had the black and blue bruises to show for the collision. It was a serious accident and Walmart is trying to weasel out of helping this tired old women heal or even be compensated for her and pain and injury. They are mentally trying to get her to say, "Screw you I am out of here!" (Walmart's plans do not always work. Mom is a fighter and they have backed her into a corner.) But we know as a family that her injury was real and they will pay for her pain and suffering these last two years.

I shop at Walmart, "Respect For The Individual", has been central to their success

It is really nice outside; we have a beautiful spring; when I first opened the door for the cats to go out and enjoy the day the birds were a constant loud song. I have no clue as to why they were so loud other than song.
I know I am happy to see the wonderful new growth and color. The new leaves and petals are washed clean by the rain; the colors are vivid. Bugs and birds walk on clean surfaces. Bird crap, pollen and soot is washed into the soil to feed the worms.
When the cats were young (the white cats) they would spend their entire night outdoors hunting and living off the land and come in and sleep during the day; now they sleep all the time and go out to eat maybe a few crickets a little during the day.
Mom said she was going to just rest these two days off. Next week she works 10 days in a row ( I think that is frowned on by the government but "HEH!" Walmart can do as they please).
Remember she got run over by a 13 year old boy grab-assing in their store, the young man was told, "Behave and do not run in the store anymore!" Mom she still hurts from the collision, it was major and she had the black and blue bruises to show for the collision. "One of the many beliefs of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., Respect For The Individual, has been central to our success. One way Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. shows respect for the individual is through the many benefits offered to Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. associates."

The folks in Bentonville, Arkansas got to get their(!@#$) act together and help all the grandmas pay the rent.

Twine

Good Morning,
I wear my glasses to write on this computer and read; but for everything else I do not need to wear them.
I am going to mow today. We did not finish our shopping yesterday as mom got tired out and was in terrible pain from sitting at the doctors office. I still need to get some black mulch from Walmart. It is a dollar cheaper per bag for the same product I get here in town from True Value. At True Value it is $75.00 for 15 bags and at Walmart it is $50.00 for the same 15 bags.
1200
We just got back from Walmart where I bought 8 bags of black mulch. I may go back at some other time and get 8 more. I am going out to mow in a few minutes. Mom bought some barbecue and that is what we just had for lunch. I did not wear my glasses today. I used them only for computing and reading. I bought some twine for the tomato plant up front as it is getting out of hand.

13 year old grab-assing in Walmart store runs over grandmother

32 degrees and a strong frost on the windows; outside wet surfaces are slick and shiny. It is quiet here at home and I feel good. I carried some heavy stuff yesterday and today I am fine. Normally I pay very dearly for carrying heavy objects. It could be that I have nothing more to tear or pull as far as muscles go.

Our oldest cat Tiger Lilly is very happy to sleep indoors. She is our best mouser and she normally eats fresh kill rather than chow. But this morning she is sound asleep on a couch pillow with no worry at all. Most of our cats have ears on alert as they sleep but Tiger Lilly is not worried at all as she sleeps.
Mom is asleep. She bought a wrist band for her hand yesterday; I do not know whether she slept with it or not she has a terrible time sleeping because the pain in her hands wakes her up. I do not know whether she overslept or she just called in today; I will find out later. If she overslept she may get angry at me for not waking her; whatever. I like that she works because she is a people person but I do not like the slave attitude of Walmart.
Mom is arthritic and when she got run over by a 13 year old boy grab-assing in the store, Walmart did everything they could to wash their hands clean of the event; it is nice to have a blog because I will remind the nation what ass holes they really are.

White Christmas

Sometimes life is real intense. Well mom and I have always lived that way. It goes back to the, "Love Children" of 1967. They (we) had the ability to see a human being, place them squarely on the planet and bow to their ability to be. It was intense to say the least because some people are hard to live with.
Anyway the other day I was reminded by the checkout girl at Walmart of the way we are. Mom and I are intense and we always have been that way. The young checkout girl reminded us of our bickering which we always do.
I think Walmart the store (in Princeton) has gotten a taste of mom. She (our children know) does things right and she expects the world around her to do things right. Sometimes that is a little intense. I noticed the area where she worked the other day was just right (neat and tidy). Walmart makes money when things are done efficiently. I know that they make money by other peoples mistakes and keeping operating costs at a minimum. Just fair and square are for the Sunday School Lessons and Martin Luther King Jr.
It is 29 degrees here in town, no frost on the windshield this morning. We are getting closer to a good snow and some jingle bells on sleighs.

For Some: It is back to work

Good Morning,
Those of you that have children are still in a Holy Day mood or mode as this is the second week of the Christmas Vacation. For me the Holidays are over as the Holy Days continue. There are some folks that worked the entire time and being off on their regular days was just business as usual. Christmas only meant we spent a lot of money on gifts to please people and celebrated the Holy Days while still working in extremely cold times. My wife has worked very hard this year and nothing has changed for her. Her store profited by paying her a low wage. The store profited by not giving her health benefits. The store profited by not giving her a retirement benefit and the store profited by you buying everything under the sun at her store. The store profited by demanding a low price and companies complied by using slave labor here and overseas. The store made the stock market rise and gave their stock holders their regular cut in wealth from the poor.
Our government is looking at bags of money that shines like the sun that Federal workers (that's me) saved in the last 100 years to pay for their pensions. That money is kept separate; but I can see congress just looking at that money with Scrooge Type Glee and rubbing their hands in anticipation of robbing us of our pension. The wheels are turning in their minds, how, how how can we get that money.
It is not fair for the country to be poor and the Federal Retirees do get paid for past work. We need the money now.

***
I asked my wife if she will get unemployment insurance if she leaves Walmart due too a lay off.
Her back hurts and it does not help being run over by a 16 year old "Grab Assing" in the Walmart Isles. One of the Managers said to my wife that would not have happened if he were on the job and not at home. Who was on the job?
Anyway what  is the retirement age of a grandma at Walmart?

I think old Sam Walmart would love mom.

Good Morning,
I am up late because we were in Murray last night to see our grand kids in a Christmas play. It was a sad and wonderful play, very emotional and quite understanding.

Mom is off to work and she felt as she did not sleep a wink.
She is a trooper when it comes to doing her job. She will complain if things do not go her way and she has. Walmart does not like that, they like sheep. I say to them, "Tough sheep dung." I think old Sam Walmart would love mom.
I feel tired this morning and my shoulders and neck were stiff and sore last night at the Christmas play.
It is 28 degrees here at home and very peaceful.
Mentally I am fine.

Walmart in the Year of Our Lord 2009

My wife's United States Government Medicare Insurance and my wife's Federal Blue Cross and Blue Shield paid for the exams that Walmart 's Workers Comp Insurance by law should have paid for but refused to pay for which has delayed my wife's diagnosis all these months. Those two exams found that the large hematoma in her back from her collision with the 13 year old boy running through the Walmart store while she was at work had gone down to just a speck. If you have ever had your thumb smashed in a door and your thumb is in throbbing pain until it is finally relieved or it goes away or dealt with then you can picture how my wife has felt since the collision.
CRAP...... ARRRGGGH!
We went to see her doctor yesterday and now we have some sort of plan to work on after the United States Federal Programs examined my wife.

Walmart Cares

It 31 degrees in Marion Kentucky. Frost and I do need to scrape some car windows if the need arises.
Yesterday was Motherkitty's last day of PT. There may be more but that is the last day Walmart's Workers Comp wants to pay. I say wants because my wife still is in pain because of her injury. Walmart would not look into it further hoping that it would just go away. Good health and good health care are not commodities or 10 dollar an hour employees.
Sometimes you just have to fix things, even if it an employee.

Our young kitten is sick and that is not good. We thought it was worms and it still may be so but she has a full belly at the moment. It may be our old Alleycat who is giving our young kitten a little bad health.
Our trips to Paducah are at an end. We were going three times a week and it was wearing us out including our van.

Walmart Princeton, Ky.

There is an empty building where the old Walmart was in Princeton, Kentucky.
This would be a good time for the leadership at Walmart to start a new business there at that old store front..
The idea is to have a store that sells all United States manufactured products and keep away from assembled in the US if there is a choice. We might have to pay more for the product but at least give us that option.
It would pin a star on the PR lapel of their leadership.

Being Thankful

Mom is working at Walmart and because of that we are still paying for services rendered, water, electricity, streets, police protection, fire department, schools, library, gas, natural gas, community stores, the Internet, telephone and satellite TV. If she were not working we would be living on my pension and that is only half of what we need for these services. I have no trouble living in poverty but mom loves all those things mentioned above so because of her effort we have those services rendered for a price.
Walmart does take advantage of mom's age but not her mind so they have to deal with her as she is. She is hard and tough, clean, smart, competitive, always right and works hard. Walmart is not thankful for her service because that is not in the formula they maintain. They should make her a walk around and see that things are done right person. Her formula works because she can walk around and gossip with the employees and have a great time with them but if she sees something wrong there is hell to pay and it will be fixed immediately. It is easier to keep the place working properly that to deal with mom's wrath.

Federal Government and Walmart

Walmarts Workers Comp refused to pay part of my wife's entire health bill after she was run over by a 13 year old boy while working at Walmart. By doing so they put the burden of paying for my wife's Workers Comp on the Federal Government. She has Federal Medicare and Federal Blue Cross and Blue Shield which are not limited to state or commonwealth boundary's. Why Walmart decided not to pay is beyond belief. But now they will have to deal with the Federal Government.
Wealth and arrogance makes some corporation think that they are larger and stronger than our government.

Operate In a Humane Way

Gray skies and 28 degrees in Marion, Kentucky this Tuesday morning. I am rested even though I did get up twice in the night portion of our days. I sleep and weigh like a bear, mom likes that comfort.
Well the only interest I have in the Olympics is when by chance I see them. Their schedule is as well done as the lottery balls on Friday night, haphazard and you never know if it a repeat of what you saw yesterday. I think their announcers are confused too.
I feel good with a comfortable ache in my back, just a mopping floor ache.
Walmart is giving mom their confusing schedule shtik and mom will have nothing to do with their nonsense. Mom needs her body to heal and it does take some time. Mom did get run over ( I think blindsided is the proper term) by a young man who had no business running in a department store. One of the managers told us that it would never of happened if he was working that day. I'm sure running in the isles is not condoned in a store as well managed as Walmart. I also know they read these posts because it helps a big operation as theirs operate in a humane way.
I still shop at Walmart because it helps the poor countries of the world.

Health Care - What Happens When Your Back Is Broken

I am young in spirit but my back is old. I feel that I should do everything everybody else does for the good of the country without wages. That is the spirit of value and freedom - doing work for your fellow man. Gandhi and Nelson Mandela worked
But what happens when your back is old and tired and somewhat broken?
WalMart wants those values in its employees because when they do that the company can offer lower priced products. That is great until some greedy manufacturer does not want to help their employees with good benefits or health care.
Well that is where our country is. The Republican Party does not want small business paying for health care or good benefits because that would break small business back but they want the employees of small business to work for nothing for the good of the country.
They want us all to be the good slaves and sing spirituals in the fields and in the WalMart stores of the world.
Well it is time for small business, world bankers and the Republican Party to shed those blue ties, dark suits and a haircut every week and roll up their sleeves and do some work like those WalMart employees and field slaves of the world.

Walmart on Hold

My wife tried to call Walmart to tell them she was going to the doctor and they put her on hold until the line went dead. She called again and the same thing happened she was put on hold until the line went dead again. I am going to drive her to the store tomorrow and then we can tell them she is going to the doctor.
I think her back hurts and being nervous and tense is giving her some problems because of the dead end calls.

Tuesday, June 2, 2009

Motherkitty works at Walmart. Yesterday as she was headed for the time clock to punch out when she got sideswiped/blindsided by a 13 year boy running down the aisle out of TV/electronics department; that was at 1900 (7p). She was flattened which brought on a huge crowd of store employees and witnesses. She spent four hours at the local hospital getting inspected, treated and having some x-rays taken. All I saw last night was a lot of bruises and a young lady that had a terrible time finding a spot to lie down on to get some sleep sometime after 0100 (1a).

Friday, July 10, 2009

Motherkitty took the day off - her back and legs are limp and unable to hold her up. We soaked in the pool to relax our bodies and then I was off to run errands in town.
Today we relax and reflect.

Tuesday, July 14, 2009

My back is sore but not as sore as Motherkitty's. She had a MRI yesterday on her back to try and locate any problem (if any) on her spine. She has to call her workers comp claim representative this morning and tell them that our doctor thinks this is related to her collision in the isles of her work environment.
Friday morning and no back breaking tasks today.

Friday, July 17, 2009

The Silver Maples are dancing in the wind this morning; I worked hard last night getting my desk top computer back together. I am in the process of putting it back to its original intention. Music Editing. I started cleaning up old tapes and placing them on CD's. I completed two: 1 rock CD which I need to edit again and separate the songs for our auto CD player and a Cuban tape which I took out the pops and crackles.
We went to the doctor in Princeton Kentucky and mom got an referral/appointment to see a doctor
in Paducah.
New Look at WalMart - We also walked threw (mom rode in a wheelchair) the new WalMart store in Princeton and it really felt like walking in an big old department store, familiar and strange. Nothing like the other WalMarts I have been in. Very busy and it did not seem crowded at all.

Quote from article, "

Throughout the store, Walmart has generally widened aisles — six to eight feet is common; in some instances by up to 10-feet — and lowered fixturing. In some areas, traditional gondola runs have been interrupted by new layouts, including diagonal runs, for instance, in cosmetics. The pharmacy here is now on the infield of the store, opposite groceries.

Color schemes in signage have also softened: blue signs are now closer to a powder blue, rather than the deeper scheme before. Giant suspended signs with the word “Happy” as a core theme stretch across the entire front of the store."

Sunday, August 14, 2011

The rain last night cooled everything off. It is 65 degrees this morning in Marion, Kentucky. The clouds are off in the Southern distance and the sky looks as if it will be bluer than the very pale morning blue it is.
Today is the Sunday and Mom has three days off. They are cutting part time workers at Walmart so as to pay their bill's; I guess folks in this part of the country either dislike Walmart or just that we are not enough folk that have any money left over to shop. I think the latter is true.
I cut my tree down yesterday near mom's window and will pick up/clean up Tuesday. I will use my chipper shredder to mulch the tree. I will use the chain saw to make the tree small enough to mulch. That why I have both. Mulch is my garden gold.

I feel good this morning and mom is sleeping in. She is down to four hour days which for is her not enough time to drive to Princeton. But we have one more year of car and mortgage payments and then we are free $900 dollars worth of bills a month. That is enough to enjoy the lifestyle we have. I make enough to have a great time by myself but that is not good enough for mom, she like TV, the Internet, computers, cell phones, swimming and driving. I guess computers and the Internet is my weakness. I can give up all the rest. I have 3 websites to maintain, laurelrose.com, narfeky.org and  marionky.biz (which holds the Lock and Dam 50 website and the Drug Coalition Website).
Today I rest and I think mom wants to make a peach pie today.
