5:45 AM

Good Morning,
I am outside with mom and it is just after 6:00 AM in the morning. I asked mom to come outside, she was cleaning out the vacuum cleaner and was getting ready to vacuum the floor in the computer room. I asked her do you know what time it is? She said what? Laurel it 5:45 AM in the morning. So now we are out on the deck listening to the birds chirping and singing.

7:30 AM
Mom is vacuuming the computer room and she took a 1 hour break before vacuuming the room; before she started cleaning the vacuum she had unloaded and loaded the dishwasher and cleaned the counters and the stove; anyway she did take a break until a few minutes ago. I am going out and move the van and get dressed.
No working ruts today.

Still Working on the Ruts

Good Morning,
My ,"Hold There Mule" attitude is doing good on the ruts, the mattock does not hurt my back, it makes me sore but it is something I can do in moderation. The ruts in general (riding over them on a lawn tractor) hurt my back when mowing. That was one of the things my doctor said would hurt. They are vacuuming, riding golf carts (mowing), sweeping and my favorite, standing over the bed folding clothes. The doctor did not mention the folding clothes part but believe me it hurts. But heh yo gotta live. Mom found out the hard way about riding the lawn tractor. Anyway filling in the ruts is a pleasure compared to riding over them by mowing the grasses.

Photos at 10.00 AM
I called it quits for the day, I will take a shower then hop into the pool and clean it.

Pool Leak

Good Morning,

Mom and I found our big pool leak; it was in one of the lines (hidden) but when I took off the section there it was; I just need to go to hardware store and get what I need; not a major cost; just maintenance.
The pool is down for maintenance but hopefully I will have it ready by tonight.

9:00 AM
I just fixed the leak and I am now filling the pool back up 6 inches.
9:15 AM

I just put mom in charge of pool maintenance.

This afternoon she weeded around the pump area so I have a big pile of mulch to use.

Good Morning,
I went out this morning and filled in some ruts; I have a long ways to go but it is getting done slowly but surely.
We have ripe cherry tomatoes and I think mom will go out there and pick them this morning; going out early while it is still cool (76 degrees).
The bright green to the left is the rut (3 to 4 inches deep and a hard bump (AGH!) when mowing) and the high dry grasses are the sod with stone underneath; the cut smooth lawn is just mowed grasses.

8:30 AM
I hear thunder; mom said it was going to rain so I put my mower away and did a little maintenance on the pool. I think the rain will clear up and I may be able to dip into the pool this afternoon.
Yesterday we cleaned up an area in the computer room for a bed; this morning before going outside I cleaned a moldy area with Lysol, water and a scrub brush.

Ronald Reagan 1981 to 1989 over 30 years ago.

Most of you were not born during this time but at this time period the Reagan Administration was not in the business of having a large overwhelming government so he cut back on doing things that were normally done prior to his administration. He started the cut backs in paying for services which one was dredging out reservoirs and by not doing so the Corps of engineers were not able to keep the water away from cities; since most of you were not born then you do not remember that type of maintenance.
Today you can blame the United States Government for not doing something.
You do remember that the Republicans Administration at the moment does not do what the country needs.

Morning Views

Good Morning,
I am out on the deck, we have wind, blue skies, partly cloudy, birds, sounds of traffic, the sound of the pool pump, we have very green trees and a sparkling blue pool to view and hear. I am sitting outside on the deck with mom; we are viewing the day and putting water into the pool. The birds are singing and eating bird seed at the feeders. We are certainly having a good time out here.
Our grasses need my mowing, mom said she had money for gas so we will go to town and get gas.
I think we have a leak in our pool or else the sun is sucking the water out of the pool. I looked at a video that repairs pool liners,  I do not want to replace the liner just patch it.

Red Sky in the Morning, Sailor Take Warning

Yesterday I lowered the bricks around the Gladiolas so as to mow easier around them (the frame of the mower deck was moving them out of place before I lowered them).

This morning when I saw daylight I also saw pink skies in 3 of the 4 directions I looked. Very nice.

Good Morning,

I feel good this morning; I have gone to be earlier each day so I am out of whack as to being normal as in "9 to 5" type of day. I am going to bed to early and waking up with 8 hours of sleep by 12 midnight. Oops! I am off with mom but mom tries to keep pace.
I started another survey with Opinion Outpost and I will see where that goes?

Thursday, June 23, 2016

I am going out and dig in the yard; I placed bricks around the gladiolas and that did not work out so I will go out and bury the bricks just below lawn edge and above weed edge.
10:00 AM
Finished this project up.I should be able to mow the grasses around the gladiolas without disturbing the bricks.

Good Morning,
5:30 AM and it is 80 degrees outside this morning; yes it is still dark outside. I moved the cabinet from the computer room, it had wheels but they did not work on carpet; I have to brace up the bottom of the cabinet as mom noticed that it was not holding strong. One small piece of glass in the cabinet fell out but I was there when it did and it did not break; I glued it back in with aquarium glue I had in a box in the garage.
I am sore from moving the cabinet but mom and I got into the pool about 1:00 PM.
Mentally and physically I am fine.
I have a card table in the living room at the moment, at the moment it is holding excess wires and it was holding the excess computer game and stereo equipment; I will move it later this morning so we can have a better view of the cabinet and TV area.

Pool and Deck Update

Good Morning,
I was up early and I noticed that the temperatures this week and maybe next were going to be in the 100 degrees during the hot part of the day; that is too hot to paint the deck as the paint would not soak in and create a bond with the wood; being hot like that would just cover the wood and not penetrate into the wood and that would cause the paint to peel and chip. Ideal temperature would be 70 to 85 degrees.
I just checked the pool and I need to shock it ( I just did); I will check it again at 10:00 AM; I was in it yesterday afternoon and I cleaned it and added water then. Hot weather evaporates water and it seems as though it has a hole in it but that is the price you pay for a pool. It feels great to get into the pool.

Tuesday, June 21, 2016

Good Morning,
It is 76 degrees outside this morning here at home in Western Kentucky; it is dark outside this morning but I was adsorbing the colors of the day yesterday and I saw powder blue skies white luminescent clouds on the edges and light gray on the portion facing me; the trees were dark green and bright green with black in the depth of the shadows of the branches; the mowed grasses were a light gray green and a light brown on the bare earth. The sunflowers were green with bright yellow flowers and the lilies were a stark white with brown spatter. The gladiolas were a rainbow of colors against the green foliage of tall mint.
I cleaned and vacuumed behind the stereo cabinet/shelves yesterday and this morning I will arrange what wire are left. I may Velcro my electric power strip to my cabinet vertically.
In the photo below I ran my wires through the walls to make them disappear. There Back!
Later this morning I will move the flower pots off the deck and wash the deck so as the water rings on the deck will disappear.

Something For Nothing

I work for God and by doing so I do something for nothing. So am I to live, to buy the warmth for mom.

Quiet Day

Good Morning,
I had a quiet Fathers Day; I did not do anything; mom made a special banana upside down cake for us, plus she made a stew but I was not in any mood for food yesterday. I am having a problem with my balance (walking or standing straight). I will have to do these exorcises   (Right Side)  (Left Side)
Have you ever had a day where the more you thought the angrier you got.
When my kids called I did not have much to say; I tell folks that I am not the telephone talking type of person and yesterday certainly proved that.
I tell the wildest stories but yesterday on the phone I was "OHO HUM"; a dud is a good word.
I am in the process of writing a book; I gave the idea to mom and she did nothing with it so I am tackling the idea; I really need an excellent writer to do the project but if there is no one then that means I will have to do it myself. The problem is that I have the idea, then write the idea down and pow after 2 pages the story has ended. I will have to learn to stretch the idea out for 200 or 400 pages.

A Really Hard Jig Saw Puzzle to Solve

I have one of those Jig Saw Puzzles software programs on my computer and sometimes I make a puzzle from some of the files I have on my computer; here are some I have created a Jig Saw Puzzle from; the hardest one and I am still working on it is the last one at the bottom:

But the hardest one so far is the one below.

Spaghetti Wires

Good Morning,
It is just after midnight and I rinsed my mouth and came into the computer room and started rewriting my story/theory. I realize that it is just after midnight but if I do not do what is on my mind then things will not happen.
Saturday I was cleaning behind the stereo (spaghetti wires); I am putting wires away and taking old machines and putting them away too. All that will stay is on two shelves; the top shelf is the Wii, the stereo receiver and on top of the stereo receiver will be the turntable, the turntable will keep the cat hairs out of the stereo receiver. On the second shelf will be our blue ray player and on top of that will be our DirecTV Genie;  the Wii remotes will share that space too.
Mom and I went swimming Saturday.

5:30 AM
I just emptied the dishwasher and loaded it back up, I am pre-rinsing the dishes because the pan and grill is covered with barbecue sauce (mom made barbecue chicken and it was finger licking (just to keep my fingers clean)).
It is 78 degrees outside this morning.

6:20 AM
It is pouring down rain at the moment.

Saturday, June 18, 2016

Good Morning,
I am sitting outside on the deck listening to the birds. The birds are fearing me this morning. Something must of happened. Yesterday we saw a buzzard being chased by a small bird. Someone is stealing eggs.
Funny how animals sense danger. We missed are day of feeding the hummingbirds and they left the area. We have a young male here but everyone else left.
Next Friday we can paint the deck if it is possible, the weather looks OK.
Yesterday I cleaned and removed some wires from behind the stereo/TV area. I will do the same this morning. Later this morning I will mow and maybe fill in a rut.
We went swimming yesterday and the pool was about 86 degrees and the wind was mild but it felt chilly.
Drinking coffee and I was a little off balance this morning so I went and laid down and did some neck exorcises. My doctor in ( the same doctor who did our kids ear surgeries) Henderson told me what to do when I get dizzy plus I take my medication.
I had a problem riding in vehicles when I was young and I had a tough time going across the ocean. I cannot read in automobiles or fool around with a smartphone in  an automobile. My doctor now provides Antivert (meclizine) for me to take once or twice a day. I get by with one dose normally.

Good Morning,
68 degrees in at the Marion Airport; that is our official weather station.

Good Morning,
Mom is feeding the cats; then we will sit outside on the deck. It is overcast outside so I am not sure whether the sun will come up. The gladiolas are just now blooming; our early girl tomatoes are extremely covered with early tomato's. The cherry tomatoes are just a week behind the early girl and are producing a lot of tomatoes; the Roma tomatoes are a month behind the early girl tomatoes. No tomatoes are red yet.
I remembered the story/theory I gave mom and it is good; I will have to rewrite my story already written.

Baking a Cake

Good Morning,
It looks like rain today or maybe it is just hot weather with a chance of thunderstorms. Mom sent me to the store this morning. I think mom is going to bake a cake. I put a landing area for the birds on my log feeder and it is scaring the birds so I am going to change it to a post (tomato stake) I have. Birds are not frightened of wood; the landing I had was plastic and white.
8:30 AM
I just put the extra perch on the log feeder and mom is fixing up a cake.
The birds had to hang upside down to get at the peanut butter in the bottom holes; now they can perch on the extra wooden perch.
I will rest up a bit then go out and move sod and rock.

11:00 AM
I lifted about 5 feet of sod in the rut and put rock in the rut/ditch and then put the sod back on making it level; I rolled the area with my lawn tractor making it solid, hard work; I have a lot to do still.

Listening to Music

There was no killing in my day of listening to music or the coal minor digging black rocks with a machine or a crew digging a trench to lay pipe in the 90 degree day or a crew putting a tow together n the Mississippi.
It just rained.

Big Stick

Good Morning,
Mom and I are out on the deck.
I was thinking about the United States and Russia having a threat over the world about who was going to be crazy enough to blow the other up. Move forward in time to Bush Junior and his invasion of Iraq. That was the point where the world knew that the U.S. was not going to flatten Iraq with nuclear devastation thus nullifying our world power.
Our big stick became wet noodle.

Sad and a Prayer

Good Morning,

We spent the day just being online and watching TV; a prayer; then lunch; then swimming; then Jeopardy; then bed.
Hopefully today I can fill the ruts.
Not everyone can own a tank or a jet but you can own an AR 15

Started a Story & Ruts

I wrote more this morning and I still need to fill in the gaps.
I am getting dressed and going out to dig up ruts and make them smooth. I will lift the sod and whatever soil comes with it and lay it to the side carefully and go get a load of rock and fill the sod hole with rock then place the sod over it and  drive over it with my lawn tractor to push it deep down and hopefully flat. The rock underneath will provide a road for run off underground hopefully the sod will stay put.  It is a slow and tedious process.
You can see where I leveled the pile of soil (left back).
New Ruts these are not as deep.

Coffee Time

Good Morning,

I got up at 5:00 AM which is a little later than normal; I prefer 5:00 AM as a wake up time. It is the way my body acts that puts me to bed before 7:00 PM; my legs shake mainly to circulate the blood, 60 years of walking and standing on my feet requires a lot of blood flow in my legs; now that my nerves in my legs act up my body does not walk like it did; hence the shaking. It does not bother me so I go to bed because it bothers mom. I take medication to slow the process up but I really should not be taking it. Working in the yard and pool helps a lot.
Time for a mug of coffee.
