Traveling with Motherkitty every day that it rains is tiresome. She has had some kind of appointment every day in the last 9 working days.
She took the day off yesterday while I did a little house keeping on the deck. I still have to fill more sand bags for the winter cover. Every year we get new sand to place at the bottom of the staircase going into the pool the sand keeps the staircase stable when entering the pool.
It is raining today and the leaves are still on the trees and they still show some beautiful colors.
Everyone I know is hurt or sick.

Clouds

A couple of days ago the kitten jumped on my laptop and it locked up and when I rebooted it no hard drive showed up. The computer last month said that my hard drive was going away pretty soon but I gave it no thought and continued using my laptop.
This is the first post on my blog since replacing my hard drive. I took about five minutes to replace the drive and 24 hours to get my stuff back on the computer. I did lose a couple of important files but I had some backup in the Misty Mountains.
I really do not have all my website pages back on this computer but that takes a little while downloading my websites from the server.
Most of my files were on our Network on Motherkitty's computer.
My old hard drive was a 80GB hard drive and this new one is 500GB. Which is pretty nice.

Standing Still for Peace.

A package of Christmas cards came in the mail in my dreams.
They were signed in large sweeping illegible script.
I awoke with a start, completely confused.
The package provided no clue as to where or of whom they were from.
The return address provided no clue as to where they had come from?
I am totally confused. Today is October the 27th and that dream is very disturbing.
Not in a dangerous way but in the pile of mud it places before me. Life is very clear, clean and crisp.
The light shines in though the windows giving life.
And that package of thought plowed to the top of my sleeping mind and awoke me. Do we all see thoughts like these and do people really spit on our thoughts?
This is certianly not a thought that should be put online. This is almost as disturbing as watching the war on television. Where should my mind go? There are clear places on the earth where life is simple, crisp and clean.
And there are places that are encrusted with hate and
that cancerous hate burns at the earth. Will water and good sense heal the wounds?
Will the power of the Holiday Spirit stop the violence?
Is this Holiday only a day marked on the calendar to cease the violence?
Can this day of “Peace on Earth” be extended or
do we have more pressing matters to attend too?
The choice seems to lie with the Muslin leaders of the earth.
The choice seems to lie with the Christian leaders of the earth.
Are they going to surrender to god and stand still for peace?
***
Standing Still for Peace.
A man watches the world.
He looks intense, standing still, he is aware.
He looks at every movement before him.
He reads the signs of the day, he has not moved.
There is an internal stillness, he is waiting, patiently, standing watch.
***
Your thoughts fall like golden oak leaves.
Like golden rain they carpet the ground beneath my feet.
I pick them up and use them.
I paste them on the line with wooden pins.
***
What are the parameters for peace on this planet?
One is the ability for all human beings
to have faith in peace and how that is to be achieved.
To achieve peace we need our
bodies to put the energy created by our adrenaline to good work.
And if our bodies have a desire or rush to harm another human then
there has to be something/or someone stronger to
believe in that will put your body in the correct frame of mind.
***
I sat on the plane writing this thought: How many of us live in a safe haven? Our protective shell, our home in a nutshell. Peace and safety surrounding our being. How does this cave of modern times differ from the time of bears breaking into our cabin and confronting us? We still deal with earthquakes, rains and tides but our relative safety is quite good. How did we ever get to this place of comfort where the local government does not pry into our being? We hear about the rampage but the flooded waters move elsewhere.
+
As the plane landed a strange site appeared in my view. People were standing like statues looking like an abstract painting in orange. Some stood on bandanas, some on rifles. They were scattered about like droppings from a plane.
So what is going on I ask? Someone handed me a folded paper with writing on it.
The paper said,
"Orders from a higher authority:
You can go to work and slay beef, fowl or pork. Not to many folks say what you do is evil. You provide a service for the folks in your neighborhood. You can on occasion just decide you have had enough and call work and say, " I won't be in today." You take the day off and enjoy what life gives you. You made a decision, a simple decision.
The folks in this land and that land can lay their weapons down on the ground and stand on them at attention. They can contemplate peace. They can stand thirty soldiers deep. They can stand and think and do nothing but fight for peace in their solitude. They can stand erect until every muscle in there body aches for peace. They can let every killing emotion pass through their system of thought. They can stand still until peace comes over their bodies. Some will want to strangle the veined throat of their neighbor but they must stand still for peace. This is a very painful process as they look down at their killing weapons. They must follow orders they are now soldiers for peace.
They must stand still for peace."
+
The sun was hot. Heat wavered over the red earth.
The shine of wet skin could be seen for miles.
Our higher authority had given the order.
The earth looked like hell.
For as far as you could see they had come, so there they stood.
Most were in agony.
The physical and mental adjustments were excruciating.
Bodies were shaking internally.
They were ordered to stand still and at attention, so they stood.
Acres of aches stood still.
Emotion reverberated in their minds but they had orders.
They would stand until they got it right.
+
A lifetime of hate was being forced to the surface.
He was ordered to stand still.
He was told that peace would come.
He was wired like steel.
He had the strength to endure this pain and he would.
He was ordered to do so.
He stood like a statue, with his weapon or bandana under his feet.
Peace and Goodwill Prevail.
They are going to surrender to god and stand still for peace.
These orders came from a higher authority.

United Nations Charter

How many of you understand the meaning of the charter?
Chapter 1, Article 1 of the UN Charter states

The Purposes of the United Nations are.

1. To maintain international peace and security, to take effective collective measures for the prevention and removal of threats to the peace, and for the suppression of acts of aggression or other breaches of the peace, and to bring about by peaceful means, and in conformity with the principles of justice and international law, adjustment or settlement of international disputes or situations which might lead to a breach of the peace;
2. To develop friendly relations among nations based on respect for the principle of equal rights and self-determination of peoples, and to take other appropriate measures to strengthen universal peace;
3. To achieve international co-operation in solving international problems of an economic, social, cultural, or humanitarian character, and in promoting and encouraging respect for human rights and for fundamental freedoms for all without distinction as to race, sex, language, or religion; and
4. To be a center for harmonizing the actions of nations in the attainment of these common ends.

Live in Peace

I was listening to an old Israeli foreign minister and his views for peace in the Middle East. His thoughts were tangled in the web of man's thoughts and he went into details of why peace could never happen.
Sometimes we confuse the meaning of peace and the path to it because we stick to our historical beliefs. Good influence changes that.... or God influence changes that.......
There is a place in the mind to wipe history and memory out of the mind when you are going to live in peace.
The words just spoken say, "Live in Peace." That does not add your past or that was the way it was to it. It just live in peace.
It is very hard to live in peace when you carry so much baggage with you.
It is very easy for one man to live in peace.
It very difficult for one couple to live in peace.
It is very difficult for on community to live in peace.
It is very difficult for on nation to live in peace.

Microsoft Automatic Update.

Well I just wiped to germs away from my computer. Microsoft had updated my computer with a Bottle of Hand Gel Cleaner Software. I found it next to my laptop this morning with a message that said that it was going to call the health department if I did not clean up the mess on and near my computer.
It said that Windows Defender had seen the mess and had downloaded the Bottle in this mornings Automatic Update.
Well when I was over on Facebook a few minutes ago Windows Defender threatened me when I tried to wipe myself in our restroom, it said that there may be too many viruses there and it would shut down Windows if I continued.
I may have to get a different operating system the Windows Operating System is using the camera on my computer a little too much.

I have been busy with the NARFE website and going back and forth on the rainy days to Physical Therapy with Motherkittey three times a week. That plus keeping up with house cleaning and laundry have kept me busy.
Yesterday we went to our friends Ron's house in Metropolis for a fish fry. He has a freezer full of crappie and he cooked about 20 lbs yesterday for all his friends and neighbors. Boy was that a feast and a sensual pleasure for us fish lovers.
In the photo above that's Ron out there at the head of the work boat (Maneuver Boat). Click on photo to view the whole photo or go the website I created about Wicket Dam # 50 that has a story written about lock and dam # 52 where the photo was taken.

We just saw a movie where the main character is a constant reminder of something really bad.
It is not that they have not been forgiven for what transpired it is the fact as long as they are in sight they are the reminder.

National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association Kentucky

I have been doing two things today. The first thing was before breakfast and continued until about 10am. That project was to get a website going for NARFE which I did and then move my files over there. Plus I moved my Crittenden County Local Chapter 1373 website over there too.
The second was to sand bag my winter cover, drain the water from the pool and cover my drain lines with nylon stockings.
The ongoing project is to make sure my links on the NARFE Kentucky work (most at this time won't).

This morning I am in Elizabethtown Kentucky at a Best Western. I am here because NARFE Kentucky Federation of Chapters is having a state officers business meeting.

Time for a little coffee. It is 36 degrees here in Marion, Kentucky. I have the cover on the pool. I was using a block and tackle to place the cover on the pool with MotherKitty when Charlie and Debbie came over and offered an extra hand which proved to be quick and easy.
Now all I have to do is drop the water level and drain the lines of any water. I will also place pieces of nylon stockings over the drain holes to keep bugs from making a winter home in them and still offer drainage and air to the lines.
The block and tackle made any lifting easy on the back.
***
After you drain your garden hose of any water for the winter. Coil the hose and screw the female end of the hose into the male end to keep mice from making a home in the hose. In the summer this works to keep mud daubers from plugging your hose with their hive.

Windows or MAC ?

Windows 7 vs. Snow Leopard: Benchmark performance showdown

From what I have read here Mac is the overall winner.

Windows 7 is the Gamers software.

Bandits Wear Scarfs

This is a peaceful sign but wearing a scarf like a bandit is nuts.
It may be the city allergies causing her to wear a scarf.
Check out my photo at right - no scarf and I am at peace.
Do I need a reminder as to what day is?
Laurel Rose told me it was 33 degrees this morning in Western Kentucky.
When it warms a little I have to place a cover on the pool. I had my hands in the water for a time yesterday and it was right chilly.
There must be some study as to how quickly a computer operates compared to the amount of computer Central Processing Unit (CPU) and the amount of memory and hard drive space?
So far what I have seen is when a hard drive gets over 30% of capacity it slows all process down. So if you had 10 meg or 100 gig of free space it only works comparatively to how big the CPU was plus or minus of 30% of drive space.
All of my computers have worked swiftly when new. It is only when the drive space is filled with programs that my speed slows down.

I backed up everything.

I reformatted my hard drive on my laptop. I was getting too full of Micosoft updates.
I cloud compute and save my data off this computer. So what I did is like a new computer.

Jigsaw Puzzle

It rained a ton this morning. It has been wet everyday since Sunday.
My back is becoming a comfortable ache which is a lot better than the yowl I voiced last week.
Today if it dries any I will cut a long pipe then attach a block and tackle to the pipe to lift my stairs and sand bags from our pool.
Every once in a while I will go do an online jigsaw puzzle. Mom spends an entire morning moving characters on one these video screens.

My mind is not confined to the normal boundaries of reflection or character.

Fox News is working for the Republcan Party

Stand up for the Public Option!

Tell congress you are in favor of the public option.
The insurance companies told you today they were going to raise premiums 44%.

Columbus Day

True Statement:
Everyone in Europe thought if you traveled too far away from Europe on the ocean you would fall over the edge of the world.
My Health Insurance Company is going to raise my premiums so it can use that money to fight health reform.
Have you noticed your premiums go up as the ads on TV go up?
Alex Lange is a chubby, dimpled, healthy and happy 4-month-old.

But in the cold, calculating numbered charts of insurance companies, he is fat. That’s why he is being turned down for health insurance. And that’s why he is a weighty symbol of a problem in the health care reform debate.

Insurance companies can turn down people with pre-existing conditions who aren’t covered in a group health care plan.

Alex’s pre-existing condition — “obesity” — makes him a financial risk. Health insurance reform measures are trying to do away with such denials that come from a process called “underwriting.”

“If health care reform occurs, underwriting will go away. We do it because everybody else in the industry does it,” said Dr. Doug Speedie, medical director at Rocky Mountain Health Plans, the company that turned down Alex.

By the numbers, Alex is in the 99th percentile for height and weight for babies his age. Insurers don’t take babies above the 95th percentile, no matter how healthy they are otherwise.

“I could understand if we could control what he’s eating. But he’s 4 months old. He’s breast-feeding. We can’t put him on the Atkins diet or on a treadmill,” joked his frustrated father, Bernie Lange, a part-time news anchor at KKCO-TV in Grand Junction. “There is just something absurd about denying an infant.”

President Barack Obama has placed Peace on the United States Thanksgiving Table and has asked the World to Join him in Peace.
For that invitation The Nobel Committee has awarded President Barack Obama The Nobel Peace Prize.

The Pilgrams shared dinner in peace with the Indians a very long time ago.

Thanksgiving Day is a harvest festival. Traditionally, it is a time to give thanks for the harvest and express gratitude in general. It is a holiday celebrated primarily in Canada and the United States.

The date and location of the first Thanksgiving celebration is a topic of modest contention. Though the earliest attested Thanksgiving celebration was on September 8, 1565 in what is now Saint Augustine, Florida , the traditional "first Thanksgiving" is venerated as having occurred at the site of Plymouth Plantation, in 1621.

American Private Police Force

John McCain and United States Products

I just heard John McCain say that because drugs from Canada are cheaper than drugs made in the United States we should bargain to get them instead of using United States Labor.
That is the way WalMart stores operate to get cheaper prices. In the mean time United States Companies have to leave our shores to compete.
This is a major mistake by John McCain.

Happy Birthday David

Americans For Prosperity

Conservatives cheer U.S. Olympic loss

"A conservative group erupted in cheers when the news was announced that Chicago lost the 2016 Olympics."

About Americans For Prosperity

The Mottos for The Commonwealth of Kentucky are 1. "United We Stand, Divided We Fall"
2. "Deo gratiam habeamus" (Let us be grateful to God)

"The phrase (United We Stand, Divided We Fall) has been attributed to Aesop, both directly in his fable The Four Oxen and the Lion and indirectly from The Bundle of Sticks.

The first attributed use in modern times is to John Dickinson in his revolutionary war song The Liberty Song. In the song, first published in the Boston Gazette in July 1768, he wrote: “Then join hand in hand, brave Americans all! By uniting we stand, by dividing we fall!”

Patrick Henry used the phrase in his last public speech, given in March 1799, in which he denounced The Kentucky and Virginia Resolutions. Clasping his hands and waving his body back and forth, Henry declaimed, “Let us trust God, and our better judgment to set us right hereafter. United we stand, divided we fall. Let us not split into factions which must destroy that union upon which our existence hangs.” At the end of his oration, Henry fell into the arms of bystanders and was carried almost lifeless into a nearby tavern. Two months afterward he was dead."

It seems to me that this group ( Americans For Prosperity ) encourages us to be divided.
Did this group coin the phrase, "Divide and Conquer"? I do not think they did but they sure know how to divide our country.
Another day with a back still sore. I took a couple of acetaminophen to ease the pain. I normally avoid all drugs. I do have a balance problem and I do have a constant stomach valve (sphincter) problem.

All smiles and a sore back.

I looks as though I have not posted for a few days.
Well since I mowed, picked up grass clippings and moved some things out of the laundry room my back tightened up and caused some stiffness and pain.
All the time I was on the trip to Sandy's I was in pain and today my back is better but with enough discomfort to remind me constantly that a wrong move will bring a cringe to my being.
I have been here before mentally and painfully so this is not new. Rest and good behavior, a little help from Sandy, Jimmy, Kitten Yarn and Motherkitty relieved a lot of the stress and pain.
I am thankful that I have such good company of loved ones to ease the pain.
I think I took too many on our trip home because I was hopelessly lost mentally, it is a good thing that our GPS guided us home.
I was worried about the kitten home alone but when we arrived she was here rubbing against our legs.
The children got to see the kittens brother and mother at Sandy's. Plus they met Sandy's daughters and grandchildren.
Our trip was fun and very enjoyable. Sandy and Jimmy are enjoying every minute of their lives together and it is contagious and wonderful.

Allison and the children caught smiles in Berea from Sandy and Jimmy.
