The Sun Day

Every society learned to divide the time the planet Earth traveled around the sun and divided each day as the sun came up over the horizon and set in the western skies.

What is the history of the sun day. Was seeing the sun become suddenly profound, did the light bulb go off in someones mind.

The thought was placed on a calendar as was the moon day.

Sunday—Sun’s day

Middle English sone(n)day or sun(nen)day
Old English sunnandæg “day of the sun”
Germanic sunnon-dagaz “day of the sun”
Latin dies solis “day of the sun”

Latin dies lunae “day of the moon”
Ancient Greek hemera selenes “day of the moon”

Tuesday—Tiu’s day

Middle English tiwesday or tewesday
Old English tiwesdægTiw’s (Tiu’s) day”
Latin dies Martis “day of Mars”
Ancient Greek hemera Areos “day of Ares”

Old English thursdæg
Old Norse thorsdagr “Thor’s day”
Old English thunresdæg “thunder’s day”
Latin dies Jovis “day of Jupiter”
Ancient Greek hemera Dios “day of Zeus”.

Thor is the Norse god of thunder. He is represented as riding a chariot drawn by goats and wielding the hammer Miölnir. He is the defender of the Aesir, destined to kill and be killed by the Midgard Serpent.

Jupiter (Jove) is the supreme Roman god and patron of the Roman state. He is noted for creating thunder and lightning.

Zeus is Greek god of the heavens and the supreme Greek god.

Friday—Freya’s day

Middle English fridai
Old English frigedæg “Freya’s day”
composed of Frige (genetive singular of Freo) + dæg “day” (most likely)
or composed of Frig “Frigg” + dæg “day” (least likely)
Germanic frije-dagaz “Freya’s (or Frigg’s) day”
Latin dies Veneris “Venus’s day”

Good Morning

Posts on paper:
Today is Wednesday May 18, 2011.

I have a NARFE meeting today at 11:15AM at The Marion Café. I am bringing my tape recorder (it is a small Olympus that does function as a MP3 player and a voice recorder. I am using it to record our meeting because we want to collect data about the history of the local chapter 1373. We as a group find it very interesting understanding our history in our small community. Today I mow and clean the pool, mowing first after the meeting then the cleaning of the pool. At the moment I have a pump running that clears some debris from the pool so I will remove that debris in a few minutes after this post. At the moment I am having my cup of coffee and saying my good mornings to the planet earth. This is the planet that holds my mother in her midst an illusion in my mind but matter on the planet. That is a paradox because I have no clue other that she was here on the planet earth. I posted about her on Mothers Day and a stream of tears came from this human being; very powerful emotions and rightly so good. Because of our trip we sacrificed our telephone and internet service for the remained of the month.

May 19, 2011

I turned on the TV this morning and I saw fear in a 9 year old girls eyes and she pleaded with me for no more violence. I saw those painful sad eyes, where tears fell during the night begging god to end the violence. As long as we kill meat and dig the earth we will fight; either for the meat or for the land to grow our fruit. How do we explain that to her so she does not have to feel burdened to carry the sins of the planet on her small back? Where is society and who are these so called monks to teach a child to not be so burdened with so much pain? Where are the leaders that will explain to her or where is the school that will explain to her or where is my voice to explain to her that her gift is life and yes this is heaven on earth the utopia we all wish for and our blessing is the view we awake to each morning.

May 20, 2011

Allison and the kids came by in a surprise visit last night. They stayed the night and mom went off to work this morning with a lot of children watching her leave. We are headed to the mineral museum this morning to see the rocks at their display (one of the biggest collections in the United States).

Our internet and telephone are out for lack of funds but I expected that because of our trip to Berea. Sometimes you do and sometimes you don’t; for a day or so we still have satellite TV service.

We are in our late 60’s, fine and healthy, sore and tired. We have lived a very great life and our doorway is pleasant and peaceful.

Talon is wearing a “Woody’s” straw hat from “Toy Story” with black cowboy boots, red and blue Spiderman shorts and yellow Gator “T” shirt from New Orleans.

Eliana has 4 symmetrical brown braids in her hair a white blouse and bright yellow shorts.

I was out cleaning the pool.

Saturday May 21, 2011

It is dark out this morning and warm, a nice warm.

Allison and the kids are still here, they made mom a slow cooker roast beef; the recipe they took out of a slow cooker recipe book. It is very simple, 3 lbs of roast beef, one package of onion soup mix and two cans of soda. You put the roast beef into the cooker, pour the content of one package of onion soup mix onto the roast beef then pour the two cans of soda over everything; cook for seven to eight hours and it is down. I pretty sure that the soda breaks down the roast beef and what is left gives the beef its flavor. It is worth a try.

I cleaned the pool yesterday and today I finish that chore and test the pool for its balance. I swept up the grass clippings yesterday with my rotary sweeper and piled them up and today I rake the piles into their proper places.

I feel good because the pool is great for me as well as mom.

Mentally I am fine and I awoke today with a very fine feeling about the planet earth. Talon awoke last night cold (the air conditioner) and could not tell his mom the problem so he cried until he figured it out. Then he said he was cold and went to bed nice and warm under the covers and grandpa who heard Talon say he was cold turned warmed our abode.

I am having my morning cup of coffee and coffee every morning is great. It is the only cup I have; everything else is decaf or warmed up water.

Talon is stirring and I hear a cat meowing. Most of the time the cats sleep indoors because that way they can point their legs toward the sky without being eaten by a mountain lion. Outside they have to sleep with their ears on alert at all times.

May 22, 2011

Today is the Sun Day my particular day to reflect. Mom is off today and we get to go to Murray to see Natasha in a dance recital. Eliana is in gymnastics and has been asked to move up with the big kids but her mom thinks it is too much of a change in Mom’s schedule (Allison’s). Over all home schooling is working as it should. Jason is teaching Natasha basic on a Commodore Machine.

I feel great mentally and health seems good to me although walking at the Mineral Museum in Marion was a little too much for me. It is the nerves in my back which cause the top of my thigh to warm up and cause my ankles to ache (my body’s term limit).

Is there a Commodore Machine that is WIFI ready?

Mom and I are watching a little TV this morning.

2230

It is late and two ideas come to mind and one may work and the other is a view point.

The first idea I have to do.

The second is a point of view; an image of what is to be. We as a society of human beings think of ourselves only and whatever lurks at our door step beware.

I envision roads across America where people gather with automobiles then park and travel. It is our world and whatever gets in our way, “were sorry!” This is what we have today.

The second image is an environmental image which god would recommend and endorse. Animals travel in the spring to mate and they cross paths with humanity every day.

My second image is the roadways across America elevated 12 foot above the ground surface everywhere you go. Why you ask? Because animals have to mate and their paths must travel under the road ways. If they traveled on the roadways they would surely die at some point in their lifetime. You can see the dilemma we have.

It only takes a moment in time to adjust the mind and point of view.

We saw Natasha dance tonight and she is graceful. We were very proud of her. I took photos but my images were taken with the wrong lens and light adjustments and none came out at all. Allison took a video and it was great. Mom took some photos but she used her zoom lens and her zoom lens sucks. Some photos were OK.

May 23, 2011

I awoke before midnight and wrote an entrée into yesterdays log or journal.

I was just listening to Questions and Answers on C-Span and one point they made were that a writer 150 years ago were extremely purposeful in their use of the words of the English language; when they wrote they did not have the gifts of audio and visuals to aide them in their journals and writings. All detail was written to paint the emotions and structure of the day’s events or topic being discussed. Letters were long and descriptive.

It thundered and rained last night after I had retired. Mom told me that as I was sound asleep.

Today I work on the pool. Put the solar cover on to heat it and it will work very well. I may jump in and chill my being and scrub even more from the walls of the pool and bottom surface. I may throw in the steps to insure my departure from the pool.

The pool is something I enjoy more than gardening because the swims are fulfilling in nature and is a gift to our aging bodies.

Our Internet and telephone is still out. We had a great time in Berea but it cost us some time online. It was well worth the time spent without a phone or the Internet.

I thought of the idea I had more and everything I can do online. The tools are there they just need to be understood and done.

Software can be created but at the moment the tools are there online we just have to use them in a different manner than how they are used now.

***

Sometime last night a storm ripped through Joplin Missouri and killed human beings. Since I do not have the luxury of the Internet I have to listen to local news as to when the storm hit.

May 24, 2011

Today I put the stairs into the pool between rain showers. I am still and sore from lifting my two new bags of sand to hold down the stairs for the pool.

Mentally I feel great. Mom works until 11 AM this morning.

I slept well and awoke to a new morning. I am thankful that I am here.

My good son Eli turned me on to the number game, “ Sudoku”; I play the game every day. I do very well without adding numbers to my pages and using an eraser.

I have been listening to the “Silver Screen Music Channel “ on my DirecTV Satellite System. It is a nice spectrum of music.

May 25, 2011

Good morning. Mom lost her orange cat last night to traffic on our road. She is upset on her off day. I have been spending all my time on getting the pool ready this past week at it showed in the house work. Mom is upset because I did not do both get the pool ready and clean up the house.

Mom is off today and Farmville is a memory as it is an online task that mom enjoys. I do not miss the Internet though I love the dictionary, Wikipedia, Youtube, Facebook and Google. My websites I do for the folks around me. Blogging or a journal I can do anywhere as long as I have the tools, hammer and chisel, art supplies, pen and paper and keyboard and computer.

It is a pleasant morning but there is a threat off in the distant west of possible tornados this evening moving closer to us. Not a pleasant Idea for the brain to think about during the day as I perform my daily tasks.

Time for a cup of coffee and while mom works in the kitchen getting caught up. My work tools are everywhere as I kept them close to the pool but indoors to keep them dry. Mom is still throwing things around.

12 noon

I pulled a muscle moving things around the pool. The pool was nice and comfortable as I cleaned it more and put the stairs in place. I have to cinch up the stairs and make them hard to move so that Laurel feels comfortable leaning against.

The pool is ready and is being heated as I speak.

I took some aspirin for my back. I have a hard time standing but once I am up I am fine.

The storms are slow getting here hopefully for us they will pass north of us.

I think I will read my book (Nook).

May 26, 2011

The storms came by without any damage here at our home. Nothing was moved or out of place. Our home did vibrate at one time for a few seconds and that was all.

I listened for a roar and looked at a distance to see if a tree swayed too much.

The pulled muscle stiffened up after my day in the pool yesterday. After 12 noon I was not moving well. I could lay, sit or stand but getting up from anywhere was extremely hard and I did yelp. Picking up something off the floor is impossible at this time. It can be done, please don’t ask.

Mentally I am fine and I am always stimulating my mind, writing, SUDUKU, games and thanking my being for being on the planet earth with family (present or past).

I will go out in a while and place or create netting for my solar cover (a place for it while we swim (between the solar panel and pool)).

Mom is gone to work (8 hour full day). I asked for something for breakfast from Ronald’s Early Kitchen this morning and mom came back home for me.

I saw a movie that said to me what love is. The movie showed a man that gave his love (friend) to another thinking that would make her happy (been there done that). I would prefer the other way but we have made our beds so that is a done deal. I am happy and I am sure she is too. We still share the planet together and that will always be so.

Remarkable how words placed on paper (black symbols on white) relay to the planet our feelings.

Sitting still feels good, but I want another cup of coffee and that means getting up. I will wait a bit. It is early still and I should relax a bit.

Tomas Muse: Standing Still For Peace

Good Morning,
Sometimes I muse here and sometimes I muse there, this morning I mused on FaceBook. I wanted to let folks know that leaders lead folks to war and leaders lead folks to peace. God is certainly a leader as he told Moses to write what I tell you and lead your people. I wrote about how strong warriors were/are; warriors are capable of withstanding a great amount of pain and warriors are trained to follow orders; so I wrote about this.

Here is the Story I wrote about that strength in the warrior.

Standing Still For Peace
My daughter and niece talk in Christian terms; I cannot do that. I have to think like Jesus.
I have to see the human being in front of me as seeing god or not seeing god. I have to see.
***
The world is full of different paths to god and they all whisper or scream that theirs only is the true god; which is a truth.
I though about this and I thought about the Buddhist, Hebrews, Romans, Egyptians and the other religions of the world.
They thought in terms of one god, many gods, I am god and I am. I was puzzled how can we live in peace and still believe as they did. There had to be a way to comprehend this puzzle.
***
When the United States was formed they knew why they had come to this new world they called America.
So one of the freedoms that they put in the Constitution was that each of us had the freedom to worship as they pleased.
***
Life has evolved and I now comprehend the world of religion.
Children are taught early in their lives how to think and how to comprehend their world of religion.

There is enough knowledge written about religion on this planet to comprehend peace and how it can be obtained.

Dream
A package of Christmas cards came in the mail in my dreams.
They were signed in large sweeping illegible script.
I awoke with a start, completely confused.
The package provided no clue as to where or of whom they were from.
The return address provided no clue as to where they had come from?
I am totally confused.
Today is the seventeenth of December and that dream is very disturbing.
Not in a dangerous way but in the pile of mud it places before me.
Life is very clear, clean and crisp. The light shines in though the windows giving life.
And that package of thought plowed to the top of my sleeping mind and awoke me.
Do we all see thoughts like these and do people really spit on our thoughts?
This is certainly not a thought that should be put online.
This is almost as disturbing as watching the war on television.
Where should my mind go?
There are clear places on the earth where life is simple, crisp and clean.
And there are places that are encrusted with hate and that cancerous hate burns at the earth.
Will water and good sense heal the wounds?
Will the power of the Holiday Spirit stop the violence?
Is this Holiday only a day marked on the calendar to cease the violence?
Can this day of “Peace on Earth” be extended or do we have more pressing matters to attend too?
The choice seems to lie with the Muslin leaders of the earth.
The choice seems to lie with the Christian leaders of the earth.
Are they going to surrender to god and stand still for peace?

Standing Still for Peace.
A man watches the world. He looks intense, standing still, he is aware.
He looks at every movement before him. He reads the signs of the day, he has not moved.
There is an internal stillness, he is waiting, patiently, standing watch.
***
Your thoughts fall like golden oak leaves.
Like golden rain they carpet the ground beneath my feet.
I pick them up and use them.
I paste them on the line with wooden pins.
***
What are the parameters for peace on this planet?
One is the ability for all human beings to have faith in peace and how that is to be achieved.
To achieve peace we need our bodies to put the energy created by our adrenaline to good work.
And if our bodies have a desire or rush to harm another human then there has to be something/or
someone stronger to believe in that will put your body in the correct frame of mind.
***
Standing still for peace.
I sat on the plane writing this thought:
How many of us live in a safe haven? Our protective shell, our home in a nutshell.
Peace and safety surrounding our being.
How does this cave of modern times differ from the time of bears breaking into our cabin and confronting us?
We still deal with earthquakes, rains and tides but our relative safety is quite good.
How did we ever get to this place of comfort where the local government does not pry into our being?
We hear about the rampage but the flooded waters move elsewhere.
+
As the plane landed a strange site appeared in my view.
People were standing like statues looking like an abstract painting in orange.
Some stood on bandanas, some on rifles.
They were scattered about like droppings from a plane.
So what is going on I ask? Someone handed me a folded paper with writing on it. The paper said,
"Orders from a higher authority:"
The sun was hot. Heat wavered over the red earth.
The shine of wet skin could be seen for miles.
Our higher authority had given the order.
The earth looked like hell.
For as far as you could see they had come, so there they stood.
Most were in agony. The physical and mental adjustments were excruciating.
Bodies were shaking internally. They were ordered to stand still and at attention, so they stood.
Acres of aches stood still. Emotion reverberated in their minds but they had orders.
They would stand until they got it right.
A lifetime of hate was being forced to the surface. He was ordered to stand still.
He was told that peace would come. He was wired like steel. He had the strength to endure this pain and he would.
He was ordered to do so. He stood like a statue, with his weapon or bandana under his feet.
Peace and Goodwill Prevail.
These orders came from a higher authority.
***
They must stand still for peace.
You can go to work and slay beef, fowl or pork and not to many folks will say what you do is evil.
You provide a service for the folks in your neighborhood.
You can on occasion just decide you have had enough and call work and say, " I won't be in today."
You take the day off and enjoy what life gives you. You made a decision, a simple decision.
The folks in the West and Middle East can lay their weapons down on the ground and stand on them at attention.
They can contemplate peace. They can stand thirty soldiers deep.
They can stand and think and do nothing but fight for peace in their solitude.
They can stand erect until every muscle in there body aches for peace.
They can let every killing emotion pass through their system of thought.
They can stand still until peace comes over their bodies.
Some will want to strangle the veined throat of their neighbor but they must stand still for peace.
This is a very painful process as they look down at their killing weapons.
They must follow orders they are now soldiers for peace.
They must stand still for peace."
***
"Confucius thought that a ruler who had to resort to force had already failed as a ruler",
so that is where the world is now. We are standing in the time-line of violence.
When one man stands still and ends the violence another man will shoot him off the pedestal of peace.
How many men will die for nothing?
This is what they can do.
They must stand still for peace.

Good Morning

Peace
I am constantly looking for a rush of words that will bring my emotions to a heightened state of euphoria.
So I read a book, go out and view the early morning, scan the Internet.
 I am chasing a dream.
I am constantly finding that peace, that state of being, that euphoria.
Every morning I awake, every morning I search.
Sometimes there is a moment where I just see like a child lost in a dream,
 Tomas did you hear me?
The teacher comes by and says,
“ Tomas did you hear the question?”
Someone please tap my shoulder.
Awaken me from this moment of peace.
Nothing would be done if we all found that moment of peace.
No wars could be fought if we all found that moment of peace.
Some of us can carry that moment thought-out the day.
An aura of bliss carried on our shoulders like a comforting knapsack.
We can dig the weeds, assemble the work, draw the painting, and write the word.
All we need is the awakening moment, the reminder, the warm chill that emanates deep in our
being to come forward like the blood that flows to our brain.
We are constantly showing others our moment hoping that they will see it.
Share it be part of it.
It is a good vibration; a warm movement of blood; a good state of mind; it is peace.
Peace

There are clear places on the earth where life is simple, crisp and clean. And there are places that are encrusted with hate and that cancerous hate burns at the earth.
Will water and good sense heal the wounds?
Will the power of the Today's Spirit stop the violence?
Is this day only a day marked on the calendar to cease the violence?
Can this day of “Peace on Earth” be extended or do we have more pressing matters to attend too?
The choice seems to lie with the Muslin leaders of the earth.
The choice seems to lie with the Christian leaders of the earth.
Are they going to surrender to god and stand still for peace?

Standing Still for Peace.

A man watches the world. He looks intense, standing still, he is aware. He looks at every movement before him. He reads the signs of the day, he has not moved. There is an internal stillness, he is waiting, patiently, standing watch.

Your thoughts fall like golden oak leaves.
Like golden rain they carpet the ground beneath my feet.

What are the parameters for peace on this planet?
One is the ability for all human beings to have faith in peace and how that is to be achieved.
To achieve peace we need our bodies to put the energy created by our adrenaline to good work. And if our bodies have a desire or rush to harm another human then there has to be something/or someone stronger to believe in that will put your body in the correct frame of mind.

They must stand still for peace.

You can go to work and slay beef, fowl or pork and not to many folks will say what you do is evil. You provide a service for the folks in your neighborhood. You can on occasion just decide you have had enough and call work and say, " I won't be in today." You take the day off and enjoy what life gives you.

Standing Still for Peace.

A package of Christmas cards came in the mail in my dreams.
They were signed in large sweeping illegible script.
I awoke with a start, completely confused.
The package provided no clue as to where or of whom they were from.
The return address provided no clue as to where they had come from?
I am totally confused. Today is October the 27th and that dream is very disturbing.
This is certianly not a thought that should be put online. This is almost as disturbing as watching the war on television. Where should my mind go? There are clear places on the earth where life is simple, crisp and clean.
And there are places that are encrusted with hate and

Calendars Through the Ages

Today is Sunday the Sun Day. Our day of reflection. I being retired from the hum drum of the odysseys of the 9 to 5 work week do reflect at every moment of the day and week. I can also do this by whispering or screaming because it is an understanding of existing, a prayer to god and the the bowing down to the sun's warmth.
The earth is but a moment in time in the vastness of space.

From the calendar web site:
"In ancient Rome, a priest observed the sky and announced a new moon cycle to the king. For centuries afterward, Romans referred to the first day of each new month as Kalends (from their word calare, which means "to proclaim”)."

It is foggy out this morning and we do have a spectrum of cat life in our home. At the moment our youngest is learning about the keyboard which makes it a little amazing to post anything without scrolling, pawing or tabbying.

Train of thought

They are pointed in a particular direction.
That is my senator out in front leading the way (No! He is not a Shepherd!)

E-mail about hatcapacity

one part truth, one part fiction
An e-mail about hats in my life
Do people always remember hats with fondness. I do.

I go back first to my beanies, the one with the propeller on top they were the rage at one time.
The other beanie had folded back edges, looking like they were cut with pinking shears, this beanie was adorned with pins and buttons.

Next was the brown Fedora, the hat my mothers dad put aside, not wanting to throw it away.
I asked if I could have it, he said yes, imagine the raiders with their lost arcs.

The blue ball cap that was worn backwards or to the side, our gang style, with no logos, just a button on top.

The black Spanish hat my aunt had. A flat stiff brim. It's beads hanging around the rim. I wore it, though it was hers. The castanets went with it, she rolled the castanets like a Spaniard would roll his rrrs. I danced for her, standing proud like a matador, stomping my feet to the music "Malagueña" on the record player, ole!

The Cowboy hat, you rode the broom stick, like a wild stallion. Your shiny silver pistol in the air.

The Coonskin cap with it's tail hanging to the side, the lice came with it.

The Indian head dress, received as a Christmas present. This still may be found at the dollar store today.

The English driving cap, plaid with buckle and snap on the bill.

The white sailors cap, rolled with salt, down to the eyes and cocked.

The blue bandanna keeping the salt out of your eyes, Red Ryder and Geronimo, sometimes with feather.

The Sombrero given to Laurel and I in Chicago from Judy and, it hung on the wall. When it finally fell or was dragged down, the cats sharpened their claws on it, what a waist.

The blue Fedora given in peace to us from Laurel's dad Jack. It fell to our closet floor, unknown to us. Our male cat at the time, marked it as his own, gee thanks.

My welders cap I wore in Alhambra.

The white hard hat, something to protect from the hard steel headache ball swinging on the river. It still gave me headaches.

The baseball caps of the South, logos everywhere, the uniform of the day in the south..

Straw Panama hats keeping the sun at bay.

***********************
Hello,
Well I've done it again! Laurel just informed me that the E-mail message I sent was in error.
Laurel said that the message that we received was about "Brain Capacity" not "Hat Size". I said something about just scanning through the E-mail that day.
She said "Do you remember when you had your back surgery?"
I said "Yes".
She went on to explain to me about my brain capacity, and then what the neurologist said to her after my brain cat scan.
It seemed to the neurologist, that I had a rare brain structure called the "jerrold forrd" syndrome. It seems that a few people in the world are born with this brain syndrome. Living normal lives, sometimes missing a step or two, but normal lives. Laurel went on to say that I had four lobes in my brain instead of two. The doctor said most of the forrd brains had three lobes, but that he would get back to her on that one. She went on to say that my brain used 95 percent of it's capacity, which was very very good, but that it worked a little different than most brains. Most people have a train of thought, where as the train carries a great amount of thought to and fro, with a great many trains of thoughts moving though their brains at one time. Well in your brain ( she was talking to me), it seems that you have a trolley of thought. She went on the explain that one trolley of thought went down the hill and one trolley of thought went up the hill. And that even though I had as many as fifty trolleys moving at one time, a trolley was not a train.
She said you'll have to write all those people and explain about the hats.
Anyway that is how I got started talking about my favorite hats.
Sorry for the mix-up.

TV Commercial - Flu Shots On-The-Go

The days in the sun are shorter as I awake; this area of the planet sees less time in the sunshine (the earth still gets a normal day of sunshine). I have to wait for the daylight a little longer in our Fall.
As we wait for the sun I will say that I feel very good mentally but I do have a foul lingering taste after I brushed and cleaned my teeth. It is a metal taste or maybe it is some lingering bacteria just waiting for an opportunity. Time have given ample time for my body to adjust and my mouth is fine now.
***
The other day we went to "CVS" and as we entered we saw the sign that said, "Flu Shots." We assumed that a table had been set up and we looked through the place looking for the opportunity to get a shot. We found nothing so we asked. The answer was that we had to have an appointment. I can go to our doctor to do that. A few days later I see the "CVS" commercial on TV stating that I can get a shot at "CVS" without an appointment. At the time we asked we did not know of the TV commercial.
***
It is daylight and mom is about and she is feeding the cats some cat chow and some hand treats; it is close to Halloween.
We do not get many folks at Halloween because of our location. The school system cut off traffic on our street to minimize, "Hot Rodding" by the school boys. Walking to our home from town has only one safe route (walking foot bridge) and it is out of the way for parents and their vehicles. The other routes are heavily traveled roads not suitable for walking children and slow moving parents in cars.

In the last 10 years the school parking lot has lost over 2/3 of it's automobiles. The parking lot in the year 2000 was completely full and overcrowded with automobiles. Now there is about 1/3 of that as high costs of insurance and no jobs for mom, dad and the kids.
***
I tried to sell my truck the other day and no one had any money to buy an old truck. A new truck yes but nothing old. I had one offer and he wanted to give $2500 and then re sell it for profit. I took it off the market; to me it is still valuable as a truck or a "Hot Rod".

Good Feelings

The Emperors New Clothes and The Pied Piper of Hamelin are wonderful stories to read on a day like this. Yes we have blue skies in Kentucky this morning and the temperature is just below the freezing of water.
I feel great but mom is still under the weather with her stomach. I saw her water bottle by her bedside and I asked, "Is that was the same water bottle you drank of two days ago?" and she said, "Yes." I said no more but brought her a cup of tea and hoped she felt better today.
We wanted to go to town today and spend my "Gift Card" but that can wait until she feels better. She wanted a Blue Ray Player for Christmas.
***
My mother could sing and I am tone deaf but I can spread good cheer and tell folks that they are living on god's greatest gift, The Planet Earth our "Garden of Eden".
The fact that we have flaws makes us better each day we survive on the planet, that imperfection inspires greatness and moves us closer to perfection. We have not been able to reproduce our self no other way other than by love and the union of our being.
I know that feeling called love and it brings me to tears of happiness when visions before me give me the time to understand that feeling.
Wanting is our greatest sin and it dooms our days. Just be as you are.
***
Points of view

I have seen a different religious point of view from just about every person that I have ever meet.
Just about every point of view speaks of peace and good behavior toward their fellow man with a few exceptions.
How can I possibly tell each person that their view is wrong when in their heart their view is correct?
If I listened to their view point, I or we would come to an understanding that their view is correct and realize that we were saying the same thing only using different nouns and verbs to explain the same things.
If their view is correct and my point of view is correct then that tells me that we are all right in our views about life and that I have failed to understand their viewpoint in the past.
So I must see each person as being alive with a viewpoint that is correct and to the point.
If that is correct then I must see each of us as being an image of god and understand their point of view as the same as mine.
This space that I occupy is very grand and I believe that each one of us occupies the same grand place.
This implies that all matter as being in the image of god.

"Matter: Something that occupies space and can be perceived by one or more senses;
a physical body, a physical substance, or the universe as a whole."

So must I worship the ground that each one of us occupies?
I guess if you were standing in front of me I would have too?
Whatever I like the idea that each one of us is correct in our points of view.
***
Those &These
We would all just love to form our own personal group of friends.
Choose who fulfills our needs and place them on our invited list.
Of course we would have to completely ignore the idea of equality between women and men, rich and poor, smart and ignorant, thin or fat, meat lovers and meat haters, no gods and lots a gods.
And of course everyone else that falls in-between those lines like Doves and Hawks.
***
This morning is clear and bright.
There is a cloud cover toward the north and a clear sky to the south.
The sun is coming between the two variations of the early morning.
The sun is reflected in the morning water.
Turbines can be heard off in the distance.
Those sounds have traveled across the water from a great distance.
It is nice and I feel good about myself.
My body is heavy but my health is good.
Complicated matters and simplicity adorn my environment.

***
If I sat on a mat in a ritual art form, clearing my mind of unneeded clutter, placing my being onto another level of spiritual wealth could it compare with the description above about being.
My thought and body says it the same and different at the same time. Being aware of the space we occupy places us well in the space provided by life. Remember the Quote "Seeing is believing". We have read a million words that describe the truth about our environment and we as individuals add our own statements to the lengthening list of cliche's that enlighten our lives.
***
We read poetry and sometimes a great novel. History and biographies pass along our paths.
Sometimes we meet a human that is a novel, a human story, a biography, and a person with a life that is a story.
Could it be that each one of us is indeed that great novel?
We as individuals are cloaked in suspense and drama, veiled in insecurities and peaceful oblivion.
We share what all great writers write about, we carry our novels in our souls as we walk into that great storeroom of good words.
This is a nice thought.

I will remember Memorial Day as the day of the mother/soldier.
My mother fighting off my father to defend her children from
the great war in our family only to disappear beyond the thoughts of this nation/man.
I will remember all mothers who fight off the drunken rebel and the tyranny of their broken lives.
I will remember all the women and men who fought and died in the struggle to stay sane in our world gone mad.
I will remember Memorial Day as the nation of men and women who died fighting off
the tyranny to make our country free from the evils of mankind.
Our Gererations of Love comes streaming through the Valley to our Hearts.

Rebecca
I wrote this piece below the other day to try explaining to everyone that we are here no matter what happens to the earth.
I realize that the earth could explode and dust/and or vapor would be all that is left. Whatever.
Some particle of life will be there. Some substance of our presence will be there.
Saying that I thought about my mother and her presence on earth.
Her physical presence has not been found or I am not aware of whoever knows of her presence on
this planet but I realize this.
She is here.
She loved, lived and became a mother of three children that I am aware of.
She was a sister in a family who say that are not aware of her present existence today.
All that is left to me is speculation about her whereabouts.
So I now I know that in a photo taken from space of this planet that my mothers dust or presence will be there.
Her marble marker in life is here in these words and every photo of earth.
Her life is in my substance and in my families.
Life should have been better for her.

We are the dust as we are the body.
I am going thru a phase where I understand words. This should have happened
when I was sixteen years old. Well whatever if by some chance I'll be reincarnated
as some minute particle on this planet of ours I want to be completely aware
of my standing in life.
When they take a photo of the earth from space to give us our weather and
show us a nice snapshot of earth. We are there with all the animals and
trees and rocks and sand. The water moves about in waves and our long lost
and departed are there. Nothing has changed but time as it passes. We are
there on earth, we exist, and we occupy our space in time. We can't seem
to see our bodies or the soil beneath our feet but we know we are there.
We are the dust as we are the body.cca

Do we as humans blunder into places where our mind has no business being?
You know the place that keeps us up all night with worry and a chocolate high.
The place where the heart races to undo the damage of lost sleep.
How do we get back to the place where whatever we see is there?
Do we have to count on our fingers about this little piggy?
Are we getting closer to the point in time that sees the word before you and as you look away you see whatever you eyes see?
Can we clearly see the puzzle?
Are we there? Are we here?
Are we at the place our scholars talk about?
The answer is always yes at this time and no we are not in 1945 but we
do understand that they were as aware as we are now.

Things you hate to write down but somehow you must.
Berea, Ky. in the late 1980's.
My sister Sandy told me that my father had said to her that a good place to hide a body is under a tree.
Deep down in her heart my sister was not impressed with that statement.
Marion, Ky. in the year 2002.
On our recent trip to California my stepsister Diane told me that my father had threatened my stepmother Gladys by saying that she could be buried under a tree. She left him in the late 1970's or 80's. I do not know if that particular event opened the gate but it was probably close to the end for them being together.
I have come to the conclusion that my mother is buried in some beautiful garden in California.
My grandfather and his sons including my father worked at a prominent garden in the San Gabriel Valley.
My grandfather worked all the years that I remember at this garden.

My mother the mystery.
Is s

My mother the mystery.
Is she still alive?
In July 1945, My mother brought my sister and I  to the Aurelia home, her parents home.
She said she was going to look at furniture at a store in San Gabriel, she then disappeared and never came back.
Rafael Arellanes hired a detective to look for her, but there was no trace.
Dennis Diaz was almost 4 years old and Sandy Diaz was less than 1 year old.
Per Betty and Daniel Arellanes. Dianiel was my mother's brother.
This is 1998 and she is still missing.
Laurel is looking for her, obsessed by the idea that my mother can't hide from her either dead or alive..
My skin is tanned, keeping the rain, sun, sand and emotions at bay for the last forty years.
The Trekkies would be proud of my defensive shield.
It is a sad state of affairs when I'll neither care or cry When/if she is found.
I get the feeling that the less I ask the better.
I can't ask any of my family about my mother without bringing back pain and tears.
The best minds are at work looking for her.
***
Hair, long corn tassels, my grandmothers gray-orange-white-gray hair.
She had long hair down to her waste, hair that she braided and rolled up
into a bun on her head. Hair that you would see in her photo, hair that
reminded me of an Indian Maiden. Hair that reminds me of love, comfort
and reason.
***
I am reminded of my mother, while taking a shower this afternoon, thoughts of my mother
came to the forefront. I wonder why no one has come forward to explain
where she went. My mother has not come forward. My father while he was
alive did not come forward to explain. My aunts and uncles only know
that she left, they did not come forward. The government has not come
forward. Not even a vague sense has come forward.
No one has come forward with an explanation. Here I am a man of
nearly sixty with no explanation about my mother. No clue. Every time I
broach the subject I bring tears into the eyes of my aunts and uncles, I
am forever lost, an island, a constant reminder of something sweet in
their past that has gone, forever lost.
Out of sight out of mind, how sad.
I sit and write wondering what I did as a child to have to endure such
emptiness.
I sympathize with everyone that has some sort of problem; I defend his or her
existence. So when everyone in the sixties defended every ones right to
the pursuit of happiness I was very pleased to take my place on this
earth, to be accepted as a being on earth.

Speculation
Where do I turn to find my mother. Laurel has exhausted all the legal tools at hand.
S.S. can not mail a letter to her until they find an address. No one has ever reported her dead.
She has disappeared from visible site, I do not know what she looked like, thought my dad showed me a picture of her in 1951. That photo is lost.
She was a beauty with a singing voice. She was not meant to be a mother. She loved the night life, my dad and her partied across Southern California.
What do I think?
Was she moved into hiding by the government for some knowledge she possessed?
Did my dad do away with her?
These two above thoughts are in the direction I lean toward. The first thought can be traced in two directions, from her end and from this end. Nothing!
The second thought. My dad is not capable of hiding a body without help? So I look into where he worked or his family worked? My dads parents were devote Catholics, my mother was christian, I assume her mother was a seventh day adventist. Her sisters were Methodist? I spent many hours in tents in downtown L.A.
If my dad had help covering up a body, who would get him out a jam?
Where were people working at that time.
What did everyone have in common. Three places come to mind. My fathers home, where he grew up. (Where everyone danced at Gilberts baptism party.)
The San Gabriel Mission, the Pablo  family is quite prominent in this community and helped mold the structure with mortar.
And last but not least, The Huntington Library.
This is where Pablo was a prominent gardener. His cactus garden is famous.
All the sons worked there with their dad Pablo in the forties, fifties and sixties.
My dad told my sister that under a tree would be a good place to hide someone.

as some minute particle on this planet of ours I want to be completely aware
of my standing in life.
We are the dust as we are the body.

We share what all great writers write about, we carry our novels in our souls as
we walk into that great storeroom of good words.
This is a nice thought.

Hair, long corn tassels, my grandmothers gray-orange-white-gray hair.
She had long hair down to her waste, hair that she braided and rolled up
into a bun on her head. Hair that you would see in her photo, hair that
reminded me of an Indian Maiden. Hair that reminds me of love, comfort
and reason.

I am reminded of my mother, while taking a shower this afternoon, thoughts of my mother
came to the forefront. I wonder why no one has come forward to explain where she went. My mother has not come forward. My father while he was alive did not come forward to explain. My aunts and uncles only know that she left, they did not come forward. The government has not come forward. Not even a vague sense has come forward.
No one has come forward with an explanation. Here I am a man of nearly sixty with no explanation about my mother. No clue. Every time I broach the subject I bring tears into the eyes of my aunts and uncles, I am forever lost, an island, a constant reminder of something sweet in their past that has gone, forever lost.
Out of sight out of mind, how sad.
I sit and write wondering what I did as a child to have to endure such emptiness.
I sympathize with everyone that has some sort of problem; I defend his or her existence. So when everyone in the sixties defended every ones right to the pursuit of happiness I was very pleased to take my place on this earth, to be accepted as a being on earth.

I know that where my grandfather Pablo worked they kept meticulous records so maybe they could look up the date July 1945 and see what was planted that month.

This is spring and there could be a beautiful flower in bloom there.

Hi mom.
