Good Morning,
This is a very nice day here is Western Kentucky. My wife follows Jeopardy religiously. She does really well with her answers, quoting my grand daughter when I asked her how she does in running, "I always win!" Well  that pretty well sums up my wife attitude toward the game. She does not always win at home since those folks are pretty smart but she does well on average.
During the last three months I have been using honey as a breakfast sweetener and I ran out two days ago. The change is dramatic. I know how honey works on my body and I love the idea that my body knows how to put it to good use. It is very expensive and I do get it bulk as local store prices are absurd.
My wife got her stove fixed, it was a general part that all repair shops carry for gas stoves. So mom saved over $1000 dollars by fixing her stove she has had for over 15 years. She paid Sears at least $1500 in 1996 which is 17  years ago.

Good Morning,
It is a very nice Spring Morning in Western Kentucky, the dogwood, red bug and magnolia are in full bloom.
I feel really good. We had a surprise visit Sunday from Allison and the kids and we had a ball. We talked and the kids played. We had tacos and a casadia for lunch. I pulled out a box I had out in the garage and the kids investigated what was there in the box.

Good Morning,
This is Sunday Morning and it has rained all weekend. The grasses and flowers are bursting with energy. The colors are brilliant, picture postcard and clean. The lawn mowers will be busy tomorrow.

Good Morning,
It is raining and my outdoor plans are puff, I may scrub the kitchen floor this morning. I do feel very good this morning. I have begun to push away from the table as an exercise that should help me loose some weight. That is mental state of mind.
It is quiet and peaceful here at home in our Hobbit like environment. I may go out and do a chore in the rain with a slicker.

This is an older photo of our Hackberry and rolling hill environment that we live in. This is before the pool and it shows the garden just behind the deck. At the time of the photo deer never came closer than the Hackberry because it was close to us (man). Where the garden is now is off to the side and the deer do not mind going there. So I put up a fence to keep the deer away. The pool and the fence have cluttered up our view.

Good Morning,
I am a little tired, I spent a good part of the day yesterday outdoors working on the fence around the garden spot and the rest of the day organizing my computer. I also sized some photos for the history section of the Kentucky NARFE website.
I watch a nice show on TV about Wavy Gravy (Hugh Romney) who helped organize the Woodstock.
I feel good this morning and my mind is sound. Watching the show about Wavy reminded me of my being and my point of view (what I see at the Moment).
We lost our kitten. I am pretty sure so ate a poisoned mouse. I cleaned up what was left of the mouse in the kitchen and we never saw the kitten again.
I am going to just sit here and relax. I am old enough to have that luxury in my shopping bag.

Good Morning,

It seems my days are now full with the added responsibility of being a DVP. At the moment I am moving my email groups around to make life easier for communication within the District. Once that is done then things will be fine.

I worked at making my garden spot bigger (fenced). It is now twice as big. I need one portion fenced and i have some fencing left over, so I hope that will do the job. I have to cut all my posts in two and then the garden will look better.
I feel good this morning.

Good Morning,
I am up early and it is raining outside this morning. Of course I am protected by the outside dampness by this comfortable home in Western Kentucky. No chilly wet nights in a damp cave or overlooking a redwood grove in dampness on a knoll in San Francisco. There was period of time in my life when I did sleep outdoors but never in temperature below 40 degrees.
I feel good this morning mentally and physically.

Good Morning,
I did not realize it until a few minutes ago that mom left early for work. She left here at 0550 to be at work at 0700. Now that is new, she did tell me about it last week. It is now 0715 so she has been at work since 0700, now that is bright and early.
I know that my daughter and I are early birds by nature and mom is by being around us. When I first met mom she was a night-owl who did not have to be at work until 0900. Now she is accustomed to waking any time of the day.
**
Yesterday at Spring Sprint I was elected DVP for District I. Federation Area Officer District I is the real title for NARFE but in Kentucky it is District I Vice President.

District I. Federation Area Officer  Blog.

I have been outside expanding my garden spot.

Good Morning,
It is always something that changes your plans. I had planned to see my granddaughter at her gymnastic meet when mom's van started shaking badly on the highway, we had planned to get her new tires this next payday. I took the van in to the tire store to see what the problem was? Hopefully it was something simple and maybe just $20.00 from our budget. But when the dealer called he said we needed two tires. We had only one choice (well two). One was new tires and the other was to park the van and let it go to seed. We chose to get the new tires which threw our budget out the window.
Anyway I still feel good this morning, though I have mixed emotions. Win a few, lose a few.
I did go to the Free Dump Day and got rid of those broken appliance that were parked in our garage. That is what those "Free Dump Days" are for , the big awkward stuff that regular pickups cannot handle. Old TV's , old computer and components, worn out radio's , etc.. I had a truck load. It gave a little more room out there in our garage.

Good Morning,
Mom said there was a tornado Warning siren going off last night at 2200. I never heard a thing. I went out and looked around this morning and nothing was out of place.
It is 43 degrees outside this morning, pleasant indoors in this family home.
I awoke to the sounds of a manhunt on TV, nothing close by so I shut the TV down.
I feel good this morning.
The grass is growing and needs mowing again, maybe tomorrow. It is so green, deep green, that it is almost blue (The Blue Grass State (Commonwealth).

A well regulated militia should go to boot camp.

The Commander in Chief has the power to do that.
Good Morning,
Devastation seems to be the word on the news. Twenty children and six adults at Sandy Hook Elementary is not enough carnage so we have two bombs in Boston, letters with poison and a atom bomb type explosion near Waco Texas o fill the minds of human beings.

Wednesday, April 17, 2013

Good Morning,
A good place to be. It is 60 degrees here in Marion and I just heard the trash truck stop out front and removed the trash bags from our containers. Other than that it is very quiet here at home; the kittens did meow for at least some comfort and cat chow. I have my morning cup of coffee nearby and I personally feel good.
My cousin brought the fact that we live on this planet together (distance is not a  factor); as relatives we respect our being and we our happy to be alive together. Our emotions do move as they should but hardly ever to extremes to hurt each other. We have ideals and they work; our environment is a good one.
This is Betty Arellanes (wife of Danny Arellanes) who were extremely helpful with my genealogy searches.
They provided a great amount of data for our Family Tree. She is extremely active in genealogy.
This is an email message from my cousin Dee

"We wanted to let you know that mom passed away this morning. Her episcopal
priest performed her last rites before she died. She died peacefully. We
will let everyone know when the memorial service will be. Thanks again
for all your support. we love you all".

Tuesday, April 16, 2013

Good Morning,
It is 66 degrees outside our home this morning and 76 degrees inside. It is quiet and peaceful here at home though chaos is the violent sermon on the news. Anything to prove that our nation is not founded on peace and goodwill toward men. They want us to be the NAZI state of Germany in the 1940's. Where son's spied on their parents and non-Christians/non-Catholic were put to death or imprisoned.

Clean out the garden spot and mowed the tall weeds there. Mowed the area that was too wet Saturday. I will mow again before the week is out. The grass grows so fast that mowing twice a week is common in this area in the spring.

Monday, April 15, 2013

Good Morning,

I am stiff and sore this morning, I have no clue as to why? Maybe it is age. It is 57 degrees at both thermometers. Mom was off yesterday and I worked on the websites all day with brief visits with mom and a movie video break.

The front end of mom's van is shaking bad, so I will take it in to the mechanic to see what is wrong this morning. Mom will drive the truck to work.
Mentally I am fine.

I got our new Wii Sensor bar in the mail today and I installed it and it works fine. Now I relax then go out and clear the garden spot of tomato stakes and strings, then I mow then till. The weather looks great to do that this week.

Sunday, April 14, 2013

Good Morning,
I awoke at 2.00 am and decide to watch the news on TV and to my surprise there was none on any channel. At one time in my life not too long ago CNN under Ted Turner was a 24 hour News Station, today it is another conglomerate. CNN on satellite had a special, MS NBC had something about jails, C-SPAN was all about war, C-SPAN 2 was all about books and Fox News was incomprehensible. The only available outlet was the Internet.
I am not sure of the temperature so I should get up and check? It is 50  degrees on the front stoop (North side) and 54 degrees on the back deck (South side).
I mowed the lawn yesterday and it was wet in places. There was one place I will mow Monday because of the standing water. The spring under our yard is up due to the heavy rain. When the spring falls our yard will dry out. This happens every time it rains.

The big tree is gone, it split in two from the ice storm, the garden spot is now a swimming pool. The spring runs from your right to the garden spot and continues on to the corner of our lot. It flows from right to left. If you find a crawdad hole you can hear the heavy water flow about 3 or 4 foot under the ground. Our yard is a heavy clay which holds up very well over the spring.

Saturday, April 13, 2013

Good Morning,
We have a temperature of 31 degrees out on our front stoop and 37 degrees at the kitchen window thermometer.
We have settled back down to a normal routine, no more living out of suitcases. Mom goes back to work today and I mow the yard if my mower starts. The way they make gas for machines today it is a wonder if anything starts. The way I use machines I have to empty the gas out after every use. I may put a shut off valve and drain hose on everything I own.

We pledged in remarkable unity that overwhelmed the mind. A nice moment in time

Good Morning,
It rained and it rained, the yard is sopping wet and the grass turned green overnight and grew 6" while we were at the NARFE Convention. The Convention was almost too busy for me. We were there from Monday to Thursday and mom was busy selling books for Alzheimer Research and ended up with a stomach virus that ruined her day Thursday (we had to come home early), we left at 9 am, the Convention convened at about 2 pm. I will get email updates on what was discussed at the morning and afternoon sessions.
The convention was a huge success and extremely entertaining. There was a remarkable amount of laughter and the hotel environment was pleasant and colorful. We had health breaks and pit-stop breaks.At the health breaks we shook loose the rustiness of sitting and stretched our muscles.
A note about the convention. In the beginning the Chaplin said a prayer and we all stood and said the pledge of allegiance to our country and flag. We pledged in remarkable unity that overwhelmed the mind. A nice moment in time

Full of Bull

Good Morning,
Cloudy and warm, maybe a shower to the north but here it will be just nice, just nice. I feel very good this morning and it is a reflection of the way I was brought up. I do sound a bully horn from time to time but that is the nature of the beast. The earth here is a pleasant mixture of good and well being. This is not propaganda but fact. The situation in my mind as well as the fact that I do not hear gunfire or screams of rage is normal in the area I live.

Sunday, April 7, 2013

Good Morning,
The Sun Day We know that every day the sun shines on the planet earth and it is only clouds of moisture, dust or soot/smog that cloud our days. The sunlight manages to offer us daylight when the clouds linger overhead. Hopefully rains falls and cleans and waters the earth.
My computer is doing something and it causes my cursor to wait. I better go see what is going on.

Saturday, April 6, 2013

Good Morning,
I have spent the last three days looking for the tools I need for the upcoming Convention that we plan to attend. I have found them all, not where I intended to find them but nearby and hidden in he bottom of a pile in the closet. I do have a big pile in my sons room to put away and that means the closet will look like Dagwood's closet.
I feel good this morning; this morning I boil some water to make some nectar for the Hummingbird's that will arrive sometime this next week. Mom say's April 15th on the nose and she has been right for the last 5 years.

Wednesday, April 3, 2013

Good Morning,
It is 33 degrees her in Marion and a comfortable 70 degrees inside. Today is our last day with visit by Renee, Allison and the kids. Mom goes to work this morning and I start looking for paraphernalia to help me at the convention.

Tuesday, April 2, 2013

Good Morning,
I am posting a little later this morning. Yesterday we toured the downtown area of the Paducah City Front; we ate at Whaler's Catch and then toured the Quilt Museum.

Laurel Rose, Dennis and Renee
Good morning,
I am posting via my smartphone in the kitchen.
It is still dark out as I unload the dishwasher. It seems strange to post this way. It is either pen, pencil or keyboard with me, my legs no longer shovel the coal.
