The Holy Days of Winter

Good Morning,
I live in a brick home; I have electricity in this home; I have natural gas in this home, I have water running to this home, I have a telephone wire that supplies two utilities telephone and the Internet; I have a satellite dish outside that supplies news and entertainment; I have a local government that patrols the neighborhood; I have a national army that protects me; I have a drone flying over to spot any mischief: I pay a utility or tax bill for some of these services.
Most of the time I am left alone in my solitude and in my carols of winter.
I normally do not say a prayer or am thankful for these gifts; I take them as they are; a normal function of our Democracy.
It is time for a prayer.

Tres lindas cubanas

Good Morning,
The song above I have heard many different times with different names but the same melody and rhythm. It is one of my favorites. Apparently their was a Copywrite on the name but not the melody in Cuba in the 1930-40's. My favorite is by Orquesta Aragón (Tres lindas cubanas) with the violins keeping the beat/rhythm and the drums going places we have never been.
If you want to see mom dancing then play this.
I would like to see Murray State Wind Ensemble play this.

Tres Lindas Cubanas: Written by Guitarist and composer Guillermo Castillo Garcia in 1926, "Tres Lindas Cubanas," has been performed throughout the years by such renown Cuban groups as Septeto Habanero, Orquesta Aragón, Orquesta Sensación and performers like Paulina Alvarez, Bebo Valdés, Rubén González, Cachao - you name it, they've probably covered and/or recorded the composition. Pianist, composer and bandleader Antonio María Romeu later in 1926 incorporated a piano solo into the Estribillo (a swinging section which consists of a repeated musical phrase), in his arrangement of Guillermo Castillo's "Tres Lindas Cubanas."

We Have Pandora on our DirecTV

Good Morning,
We Have Pandora on our DirecTV. It is frosty outside with a temperature of 31 degrees. One of the stations I created on my Pandora was, " Orquesta Aragón " and one of the great things about that station was that Pandora found similar music and that music is one of mom and my favorites.

Mom is of today, It is quiet and we are listening my station, "Orquesta Aragón".

Merry Christmas

Red ribbons, green trees, gold bows, blue lights, white snow.
Snow falling from windows, icicles clear, stars on
horizons, candy canes line the streets, rosy cheeks and mittens.
Warm toddy, apples and oranges, nuts and candies.
Cheers and songs, laughing and tickles.
The mind glows with life, eyes sparkle, a twinkling of an eye,
merry thoughts and friendship.
A red suit and cap, antlers and red noses,
sleighs and Clydesdale's, dancing and song.

Bob Dylan : The Times They Are A-Changin'

Come gather 'round people
Wherever you roam
And admit that the waters
Around you have grown
And accept it that soon
You'll be drenched to the bone
If your time to you is worth savin'
Then you better start swimmin' or you'll sink like a stone
For the times they are a-changin'

Come writers and critics
Who prophesize with your pen
And keep your eyes wide
The chance won't come again
And don't speak too soon
For the wheel's still in spin
And there's no tellin' who that it's namin'
For the loser now will be later to win
For the times they are a-changin'

Come senators, congressmen
Please heed the call
Don't stand in the doorway
Don't block up the hall
For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
There's a battle outside and it is ragin'
It'll soon shake your windows and rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin'

Come mothers and fathers
Throughout the land
And don't criticize
What you can't understand
Your sons and your daughters
Are beyond your command
Your old road is rapidly agin'
Please get out of the new one if you can't lend your hand
For the times they are a-changin'

The line it is drawn
The curse it is cast
The slow one now
Will later be fast
As the present now
Will later be past
The order is rapidly fadin'
And the first one now will later be last
For the times they are a-changin'

Merry Christmas

Today I cleaned the Kitchen floor, hung a new Christmas shoe rack and filled it with shoes, setup a new DVD player we got for Christmas, cleaned our dish washer and picked up after myself plus I stayed very busy as a holiday treat.

My Perks

Good Morning,
One of the perks of being a grandparent is the quiet time we have after the grandchildren leave.
One of the perks of being a parent with active young children is the constant flow of humor and pain. I forgot the sometimes we just want to yank and pull at our brains at the antics of our children.
So it is very quiet here at home now that the grandchildren have gone. It is as peaceful as describe in our prayer books.
Mom is getting ready for work where she will have to endure the antics of shoppers after the holidays. She enjoys the sounds of other human beings nearby.

I have been vocal in the past few years as I feel that the government left alone will be infested with flocks of Tea Potties.

I think my grandparents in Pasadena had a great idea of letting the grandchildren stay at Grandmas for 3 or 4 days so their parents could regain their composure (a quiet sanity). I had thought of it before but I had thought only in the grandparents point of view (I get to be with my grandchildren) and not of the time that parents needed to be alone for a few days.

I got a new flash light for Christmas and it has a beam like a laser ( "Be careful with that you may put you eye out with that!"), as the laser  burns my retna.

Merry Christmas

The Month of December is pictured here in colors of the times; there were gifts, life and it's cycles and great food and candies. The cats were chased and the Holiday songs were in the air.

Good Morning

Christmas Morning and Allison is getting ready to go to Jason's Mother home for the Christmas festivities there. We opened everything here included a can of soup. Grandpa got  a new hat and coffee mug, grandma got a quilt, cup and necklace, Allison got a handbag and blender, the kids got new school backpacks and Jason got a new coffee mug and coffee pot. Plus grandpa and grandma got a little extra for maintenance and electronic tablets.
The two families got a boogie-board, razor scooter, a lot of games and throw blankets for watching TV.

Dancing Feet

Good Morning
I really do not know what I am going to write about ; mom and Allison are cooking and playing cards early morning.  Talon is playing the Wii (Christmas DVD).
Grandpa went to the store at 7am;had coffee in my New Christmas Coffee cup and did know what to post.
Everyone was doing something very early , so I decided to view You Tube (one of the perks of being online with a computer), so I typed in Dave then thought Sam and Dave and hit the first video and this is what popped up.
Heh.... they are dancing and singing, so I am going to listen to folks that dance and sing.

Good Morning

When I let a cat in, she was wet and so was the ground ..and now I hear the wind howling outside.

Good Morning

The wind is blowing hard outside our home in Western Kentucky. I know this because I went out and fed the cats. That early morning chore led to another chore and that was to tie down our trash cans. With the snow and ice I had lost track of the ropes that tied down our trash cans. The trash cans were iced-in and not going anywhere for the last three weeks; so this morning with the strong wind I had to come up with a solution. I found one and tied down the trash cans while being hit somewhat consistently with drops of water falling from our roof (ice melt). The ice is just about gone. I saw broken ice on the ground where it had slide off the roof over night; two chores done before 7am. Yes I am up late.
In the mornings I am in the mood for a Christmas Carol.

Winter and a Human Being

I can read a book and the author will take us on a particular adventure or emotion. I studied the mental philosophy of the human mind and how it deals with life and religion. I read books and I also stayed up in my mind thinking about why I was on the planet and why I was going to die by atomic explosion before my full lifetime was complete. Looking back it did not happen but a 10 year old child does not have that perspective; my mind only has the newsreel prospective of the late 1940’s and early 1950’s. I have read a lot of books in my lifetime and the only things I remember were the vague sense of what each book was about. My mind does not remember details that would make me an ideal high school or college student. My early interests were art and Michelangelo Buonarroti and religion (the first religion studied was called Christianity). The mind of Mahatma Gandhi came next as well as all the saints.
Anyway you do get the idea of how my mind developed and as years passed and about my minds vagueness but overall understanding of what I saw and heard.
Where we are going is winter and the time we spent in caves and homes where going outside was very dangerous. In today’s environment we have heated structures and heated vehicles.
Winter being dark, overcast, gray, cold and deadly made it hard on men hunting for food. And with women and children moving outdoors was almost deadly without proper care and supervision.
So what do we do when the first hint of cold, ice and snow start to fall. We paint color and celebrate. I try to paint the canvas of computer images and words to please the winter blues and by saying, "Good Morning" to wash the morning sickness out of our mouths, minds and hearts.
Here are two paintings I did for the winter mind and the photograph of our Winter Holiday Tree above.

Cave by Tomas
The Cave is a philosophical and religious piece. Starting with the arts and history and what what we share as individuals and ending with the idea of god.

and

Wood, flint, stone, fire, ash, ore, sand, hair, leather, bones and vines.

Gives us a hint of us asking to be left alone and what it is like.
A friend (Joanie) said, "Tomas be careful what you wish for."

Good Morning

The planet from my eyes; you have taken the jobs away from the United States, you have taken food from the elderly and child (my parent and my son), you have taken the hospital away from the young girl, you have tried to take the vote from the poor and elderly (my parent and my son), you have taken money from the un-employed and you leave us only with a gun and Call of Duty: Ghosts.
The rich, The Heritage Foundation, The Tea Party and the underground armies do not care; war makes them very, very rich.
The United States Constitution, Franklin D. Roosevelt and Barack Obama figured it out and put people to work and fed.

"We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."

MIDOMI

This morning I had a melody in my head and could not remember the song. So I searched the Internet for a program to listen to my melody. That was 3 hours ago and I do not even remember the melody but I did find a program to help me.

Good Morning

It was 8 degrees out on the front stoop ealier this morning and out on the deck it was 14 degrees. When I wen out to feed the cat on the deck he ran away as I poured water carefully into his water dish; as he ran his nails were sliding on the wet looking deck. The wet look is from the ice and snow that fell off the roof in disturbing crashes all afternoon yesterday. I expect more today. I told mom that everything outside that looks wet is black ice.

Buzz Cutt

Good Morning,
I have always known why I had long hair and I was re reminded this morning when I got up. At this length my hair sticks out like a porcupine in all direction. My two uncles Sam and Danny on my mothers side of the family always had buzz cutts as I was growing up. The reason is their hair is like mine it sticks out like a porcupine. I do not any photos of them at the moment.

Good Morning

I spent some time yesterday out in the cold (outside and the garage) trying to start my snow blower.  I am not having any luck; last night I filled the tank with new gas, cleaned the spark plug, checked for spark, it cranks. I am  hoping that the 12 hours softens up some of the old gas in the carburetor. So if it does not start then the carburetor is not feeding the spark plug. Here's hoping that the 12 hours will do the job.
***
The 12 hour wait did the job. I got the snow blower running and I moved the snow away from mom's van and the driveway.
***
I started buying fuel just for small engines. It does not have any grain or corn products in it.

Good Morning, How do we restore the trust and faith of our constitution?

Some folks have used our trust and faith in freedom to destroy lives.
We have a splendid form of government as it was created.
On several occasions people have tried to kill our presidents and in 1941 the Japaneses government misused our freedom by destroying our military fleet in Hawaii and on September 11, 2001 the middle east attacked our country and our form of government hoping that we will change our government to a stricter form without all the freedoms.
Things have changed as our freedoms have gone close to the world of spy vs spy of Hitler where the children report on the parents and prisoners are stored secretly.
How do we restore the trust and faith of our constitution?

***
I stand in an aura of warmth

 I am variety of emotions
A cross culture of a human being
I placed Christmas lights on a tree
I placed the Star of David a top the tree
I sent out a Hanukah gift and Christmas Greetings
I am listening to Jamiroquai
My mornings start anew without any thought
Pure…..then the ego emerges
I open my eyes then the light
I am the variety of my being
No peg…. There is no peg hole
Spirituality?…….Zen?......Hebrew?........ Christian?..........Agnostic?
Nothing ……. Confucianism?...... Yin Yang?.......
As a child my body was dipped into all those words
My ego took the best for my self…..greedy child
The sun brightens our days and the earth turns away the light.
Cycles?
I do not have a clue but I did travel though San Francisco in the sixties
And I did see the Manchurian Candidate.
I stand in an aura of warmth
Oh halo
