Lets check the river stages.

I scrolled down to Smithland and Paducah and checked the plus sign changes. The river rose two foot at Smithland and that with an already big river (high river elevation). No alarm just be prepared to drive an alternate route in some locals in Western Kentucky.

Smithland is a new Concrete Dam and Lock 52 is and old Wicket Dam
