A year ago the starlings dumped my bird feeder by their sheer weight on one side. This year I placed a bungee cord below our bird feeder to keep it from tipping. It worked. The starlings came by and tried with their weight to tip the bird feeder but it did not tip. It stayed upright and they left it along. Everyone can come by and feed and that works great for all the birds.

  1. That's a good idea to keep your bird feeder from tipping and spilling out the bird seed.
Our bird feeders are too small for doves so what is spilled on the ground the doves peck up. We have so many doves who visit now that our ground under the feeders is getting bare. We'll have to start moving the feeders around to different branches.
