It is dark out and 33 degrees this morning. My back aches but that is normal for me having trekked those miles on uneven cobble stone and rip rap. I did earn a pension for working outdoors and sacrificing my body to physical labor.
Since being run over by a 13 year old boy at work at Walmart mom have been moving slower. Her mind is as swift as it always was and she is making the job she has into something different and not expected. She always does that, that is mom. During times at work when the power was out she could make change swiftly without the automatic computers in the cash drawers. That is the way she is.
We are getting closer to the 25th of December and the new year and we are constantly cheering folks on.
Winters are tough and gray but it is a good time to give thanks to the sun and all it's brilliance. You know that it was the first thing man prayed to. As hot as it is we are thankful that it is so far away and not any closer.
