Wal-Mart Plans Supercenter on Civil War Battlefield

  1. I don't think we can stop the development of land just because a war was fought there. Wars have been fought all over this country. It's like allocating more land for more cemeteries to bury dead people in. Pretty soon there won't be any land left to live on.
    Let the living live and occupy this land.

    There are subdivisions and houses sitting on property where wars were fought and the people living there find cannon balls while spading up their garden plots. A simple plaque is all that is needed to mark the spots with a brief description of what occurred in this area.

    If we want to stop wars then we should quit honoring the locations of battles.
