Inauguration - Mama Told Me Not To Come

I was overwhelmed by the day yesterday; too too much emotion drained my brain and left me limp. I am up much to early; I have a NARFE meeting at 1100 and our meeting place was closed Monday. Well today is Wednesday maybe the sky will clear and the cloudiness will disappear. I'd better get back to bed.

Mama Told Me Not To Come
written by Randy Newman
and sung by Three Dog Night

Will you have whiskey with your water
Or sugar with your tea?
What are these crazy questions
That they're asking of me?
This is the wildest party that there ever could be
Oh, don't turn on the light 'cause I don't want to see
Mama told me not to come
Mama told me not to come
Mama said, "That ain't no way to have fun"
Open up the window, let some air into this room
I think I'm almost choking on the smell of stale perfume
And that cigarette you're smoking 'bout to scare me half to death
Open up the window, let me catch my breath
The radio is blasting, someone's beating on the door
Our hostess is not lasting - she's out on the floor
I seen so many things here I ain't never seen before
I don't know what it is - but I don't wanna see no more
Mama told me not to come
Mama told me not to come
Mama said, "That ain't no way to have fun"

  1. I didn't watch the inauguration but you don't have to be glued to the TV to hear all about it. I didn't hear anyone say that his speech was bad in part or in whole. They posted up some of his more memorable sentences from his speech.

I turned on the news about 1pm in time to watch the parade and to watch Bush leave and Obama take his place in the White House. It was a very memorable and emotional experience for me to see the changing of the "guards" . I felt very proud and emotion filled to see this new little family take the helm. I'm looking forward to new changes & direction that our country will take. I wish President Obama all the success needed to guide our country and to make us fiscally sound once again.
He is my President and to the best of my ability I will not act like the Left did and constantly criticize and belittle him as Bush was done for all of his presidency. That's low & for people that don't have any more respect of our elected president should just withdraw their citizenship's and leave the country. I'm not saying that you have to agree with every decision that he makes, but only that he is to be respected.

Today hopefully the government will get back to business and we can dispense with all the hoopla.
