She live across the state in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. I live in the rolling hills part of the mountains she lives in the, " It is tougher to climb that hill part of the Appalachian Mountains." in Kentucky.

When I was living on a commune in California there were mountain folk there too. They were fiercely independent and wanted government out of there business (any part of government).
My wife met that kind of independence when she was doing the Census 20 years ago. She did not like going into parts of Kentucky where she (and the government) was not wanted.
I happy to report that that independence is still with us.
Good Evening Dennis.
ReplyDeleteYes we are still very independent here and don't want the government in our houses and making decisions for us. We enjoy the freedoms that we have and are not going to give them up easily and without a fight. We voluntarily pay taxes for services, roads, social programs, grants and so forth. If EVERYONE just stops paying taxes where would the government get their salaries, pensions & insurance. I think they shouldn't push the people too much or the people may push back and we'll have another revolution or civil war.
