Sleeping Deer

Could you imagine coming home from work
To find this tiny creature napping on your
Couch with your dog?

It followed the beagle home, right through
The doggy door in a Maryland home.
This hit the 6 o'clock news big time!

Lock and Dam 50
One cold winter at Lock and Dam 50 someone left the door to our warehouse open (dark spot above towboat (left) in photo (where we had a pot belly stove and we did our winter work when the river was up)). So the next morning we all came to work, then went up to the shop (warehouse) to get organized and tell a few lies in front of the stove. We all were surprised to see a doe curled up behind the stove sound asleep. We all stood around the stove while the deer slept. It stayed there the whole day and when we came back the next day it had moved on.

  1. I love your story about the doe and I love how you and all the men just left it alone to rest in a warm place behind the stove. That was a very nice and caring thing to do.
