You finally got mad when the government decided that people in America deserved the right to see a doctor if they are sick.

You didn't get mad when the Supreme Court stopped a legal recount and appointed a President.

You didn't get mad when Cheney allowed Energy company officials to dictate
energy policy.

You didn't get mad when a covert CIA operative got outed.

You didn't get mad when the Patriot Act got passed.

You didn't get mad when we illegally invaded a country that posed no threat to us.

You didn't get mad when we spent over 600 billion(and counting) on said illegal war.

You didn't get mad when over 10 billion dollars just disappeared in Iraq.

You didn't get mad when you found out we were torturing people.

You didn't get mad when the government was illegally wiretapping Americans.

You didn't get mad when we didn't catch Bin Laden.

You didn't get mad when you saw the horrible conditions at Walter Reed.

You didn't get mad when we let a major US city, New Orleans, drown.

You didn't get mad when we gave a 900 billion tax break to the rich.

You didn't get mad when the deficit hit the trillion dollar mark.

  2. I could say: Where were you when Medicare patients were turned away from being treated by doctors just because they had Medicare as their primary insurance years ago? I guess we see things differently.

The people are not mad because more people will have access to insurance, they are mad because insurance will be mandatory and that you will be fined if you are caught without insurance by an IRS. Everyone has access to good healthcare even if they don't have insurance now. Jimmy's doctor stopped taking Medicare and then decided not to accept anyone's insurance or file any insurance claims many years ago. We and all his patients paid him in CASH and it worked out very well for all. This doctor was Jimmy's, Suzanne, Ray, Tori, Matt, Sharon, Delores, Orville & my doctor for as many years as I can remember. I don't know how long Jimmy was his patient but he was my doctor from 1974 to 2010 when he died. It's not always about having medical insurance, because some people who have good insurance like I do, don't always use it and some people who don't have any insurance get good medical care despite what the government says.

There is also a program at our hospital that NO ONE pays a hospital bill if they make under $30,000 and this includes xrays, including ultrasounds, MRI's, Cat Scans & lab tests. You do however have to pay your doctor. Prescriptions are FREE.
There is also a medical clinic that is located a couple miles from the hospital that operates on donations only. Whatever you can afford for your appointment or want to pay is what your charge is. It's a Catholic run place.

I now go to a clinic that charges a sliding scale according to your income if you don't have any insurance. They also have a dentist and the dentist charges no insurance patients a fee of $20 and if you don't have it you can about borrow that from other patients out in the waiting room. People can make it just fine without insurance but for those emergency surgeries & hospitalizations it might be a little tough although I paid all of Jim H's heart attack charges because he had no insurance. They lowered the charges because I was not related to him at the time and I was willing to pay his bill. They let me make payments over time until the bill was finally paid in full. It took me a while but I got it paid off. In our town the no insurance people can get by but I'm sure everyone having insurance will be a good thing....just as long as there is no fine and it's not mandatory for not having any insurance.

I've seen how doctors & hospitals hate Medicare, Medicaid, Champus & Tricare patients and all of these are government insurances. Hopefully we'll always have private insurance companies not run by the government with low reimbursement rates being paid to the doctors and the hospitals. I see Jimmy's surgery & related expenses and I feel so sorry for the doctors and hospitals and what they are being paid by Medicare. It doesn't compare to what his private insurance used to pay for a much less monthly fee. Medicare is high compared to what Suzanne has to pay per month and she has a private insurance carrier which pays at 100%. I'm afraid that all our premiums are going to go up now that this healthcare has been passed. Our payments are part of a union retiree package and the premiums were to remain the same for life, which I doubt will happen now with ObamaCare.

As far as Iraq goes I'm glad the dictator is gone and the people are free.
