Hail and Yellow Finches.

I am up in the middle of the night to take my medicine and lightning and hail are bombarding us. It sounds like a war zone. We had hail so big that it woke Motherkitty up. We looked out the door to see hail the size of dimes scattered here and there, not many.
I like John Steinbeck and his books. I had read most of his books by 1963. In the 1980's a new movie version of Cannery Row came out but I did not see it until the early 1990's when cable came to our little community in Kentucky. I loved the movie and one thing that I noticed was a piano player playing boogie-woogie on top of a building. I thought it was Dr. John and I have never been sure. Today I am sure because I read it on one of his biographies.
We have beautiful yellow finches at our bird feeder this morning. I went and got the camera and they are gone.
I have spent all the money I have on the pool and I have no more until the 1st of the month. So the pool stays green until June 1st; sorry times are tough on us all.
Today I mow the lawn.

  2. Jimmy said that we had a bad storm right before dawn this morning. It woke him up.

  4. I love the yellow finches, they're very pretty. When they land on our lawn in groups of 50 or more they look like dandelions blossoms scattered on our freshly mowed grass.

I hope the hail didn't put any dents in your truck and Motherkitty's van. "D" and I were out one day riding when a hailstorm hit us. It dented the bike tank and one of the side chrome pieces on the Harley...he practically cried that it dented my bike.
