The paper yesterday said that the stimulus money is in the hands of our Democratic Governor and money for projects here in town has been assigned.
***
At C-Span folks were asked to give our President a score on the Stimulus Bill.
The score fell as to party lines. A's Democrats, F's Republicans, C's Independents.

30 minutes ago the kitten just sat on my computer , farted and the screen said, "The filter is now on." I tried typing behind the kitten butt nothing happened, nothing showed up on the screen. I removed the kitten and tried again and nothing happened when I touched a key. Some kind of filter was on. I had to reboot the computer to get to where I am now.

  1. It's a little too early for a grade. I'd at least wait to see if his plans are going to work or not which may take several months to a year or two.
Since we have lost 45% of our wealth, most of us are quite upset, but in all honesty who ever would have won the presidency would be having the same difficult time straightening out this mess that took several years to create.
I just hope that everyone has learned now that we cannot live on credit and spend more than we can afford. The government is having to spend so much and is making the same mistakes of living on credit, but I really don't see how they could escape it at this time. Something drastic needed to be done and now we just wait to see if it's going to work.
For all of our sakes, I hope that it works to get people back to work and make us all feel like we can go out and spend again without feeling like we should hold on to what little money we have for harder times...this attitude only makes things worse.

I have heard that our utilities & gasoline will cost us 65% more once the Cap & Trade tax is put on. This will break the poor. I hope that Obama changes his mind about that tax.

Right now the retired people on pensions seem to be the only people that are doing fine, and are not affected by this bad economy as much as other people. Everyone's pensions are federally insured and secure...up to a point. That point is past due because the federal government is now in a deficit (in the billions of dollars) and as long as this recession doesn't last much longer we all are safe, but if it drags on everyone can loose their pensions whether they come from the federal government or private industry. At that time is when we all will be in the same boat fighting for the same life jacket.

So if you ask me....I hope all this spending by the Obama administration, although it seems excessive, I hope it is successful.

  2. That's funny about your kitty, but I've had that happen to me too...sometimes when the kitty walks across my keyboard and sometimes when I hit a wrong key.

We have 3-4 inches of snow on the ground again this morning. It's warm and the roads are clear, so the snow will be gone soon.
