ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. (AP) - Gov. Steve Beshear says the Federal Emergency Management Agency is providing massive amounts of fuel for generators being used in Kentucky due to power outages caused by a massive winter storm.

Beshear spoke to the media briefly Sunday after touring a makeshift shelter in Elizabethtown that is housing some 200 displaced residents.

Beshear said as of Saturday night nearly 2,500 of the state's 4,600 Army National Guard troops and airmen had reported for duty. He said part of the delay in others showing up is that phone
service is down in some parts of the state.
