It looks like the leave on these trees are covered with ice but there are no leaves on these trees. These trees and power poles are heavy with ice and the hard frozen ground has kept every tree and power line up-right. When the warm weather softened the ground the weight of the 2 inch layer of ice it was too heavy for the trees and light poles and they all fell like dominoes in Western Kentucky.
The ice was as hard and as clear an ice cube, every bit of 2 inches and as big as a football field. The horizontal wood in the photo below is one inch thick.
