No one here has electricity or water except us. We got everything and we have become the TAXI and the place to come to get hot showers. Expecting 3 more families tomorrow for bath-time.
Our electricity has been much like your's....off & on, off & on. We're on and in the "on" mode right now.
We love our new heat and we don't have to open any windows. We're toasty warm with or without power. Scott has an adapter that operates his laptop from his car battery. They got online even though they had no power and watched some online movies & TV shows...not in their car. The adapter has plug ins.
Love your icicles...they would have looked pretty as part of your xmas decorations.
The ice has done some major damage to some of our trees. Also.... Sharon & Brian have been trapped by oddles of fallen trees blocking their passage down the driveway and downing power & phone lines. They would have attempted to saw their way out but part of the downed lines are in the pond and the rest are wrapped around several trees. Unlucky for Brian is that none of the fallen wood is burnable as a heat source, as it is all pine. We had to make a rescue run and get as close to their road & driveway and pick four of them up...two from each family and take them out for needed supplies like kerosene, antibiotics and food. It was an all day job looking in neighboring towns for any business that might just have electricity or running on a generator and open for business. They were not hard to spot as they had two hour lines waiting to enter or gas up. It was even hard to get close enough to get into their parking lots...no room either. One smart brand new Walgreens was operating on a generator and we found a gas station. Walmart stores have also been closed since day one of the storm.
In other directions we have loaned out two kerosene heaters and one propane heater to those in need of warmth.
Icy covered trees were rubbing our windshield as we made our way under them and through over flowing creeks from the steady rain of yesterday. It was fun...like a great adventure today.

Sorry that you have been living in the dark since your last post. I miss you and hope your lights get turned on soon.
